Okay..
I know.. Flame me now.. We are doing our First trip next month to Universal! Yea! Honestly if Harry Potter is that Crazy we arent going near it, But what Im wondering about is how is the rest of the park? Is Harry Potter Making the Other lines Insane??

I don't know about the insanity part, but we spent 3 days there once (pre-Potter) and enjoyed it immensely. We didn't stay onsite or buy the FOTL passes, so the lines were a bit much, but it was a relaxing pace for us, even given the rather frenetic pace of US/IOA.

No one is going to flame you for asking a question. Summer is busy for all the local parks so the lines will be there. But since lots of people are coming for WWoHP your chances of enjoying yourself is excellent because the other wait times have been normal for summer. You can expect anywhere from 15-90 minute wait times depending on the ride. Obviously the water rides will take much longer but if you get there early, you should be able to do the larger attractions w/o too much of a wait.

It sounds like this is really opening up the rest of the park. All those people queueing up to wait to enter that part means fewer people competing for ride spots on everything else. For people who aren't consumed with getting into the new section, it could be the best thing happening at Universal this summer (short lines for everything else).

I'm not a Harry Potter fan either but absolutely loved the Wizarding World area and the Forbidden Journey ride. My husband loved it also and he's never read a Harry Potter book or even seen any movies about Harry Potter. I'd still check out the land and ride FJ if I were you. Since you are going in a month, things will have slowed down somewhat. Usually by the middle of August, it isn't near as crowded as July.

We have 2 1\2 days of Universal Parks

First day is 1\2 day and we honestly arent sure what park to do. We have younger kids, from 13-7years old, who arent the most daring of kids.

We figured on Islands of adventure full day we would go right over to harry potter and if the line is 30 min ish we would wait and check it out, Longer than that.. Nope not going to do it.
LOL

Thats why we were wondering how the other lines in the park have been affected with so many people going to see Potter..
