i just got back from WDW, first time there solo and now i'd like to go back in december for the holidays [ heard it is really nice then ] how soon should i book , i wanna be there from Dec. 23rd to the 29th, are flights easy to get that time of year ?

Good morning Bud,

If you're planning a trip for those dates, book as soon as you can. That's a peak travel period as well as Holiday (most expensive) season at Walt Disney World. Airfares may not only be a little scarce, but they may also be higher. Other DISers may be able to give you money- and time-saving tips.

Happy planning!

no - it is expensive - as had been noted....

does southwest fly out of your town - they can be the cheapest if you get them early....
go sign up for their ding and emails...

This is Peak/Holiday time at WDW, so the rooms will be at their highest cost of the year. Also, plan on extremely crowded parks. Went once over New Year's and never again. Way, way, way too crowded for my taste. All of the parks maxed their capacity by 10am and you knew it. Waits for some of the most popular attractions were several hours long. If you still want to go, book now. As soon as your 180 day ADR window opens, call and make ADR's for all of the sit down restaurants you want to dine at. Can't tell you how many times I saw people being turned away restaurant after restaurant with no ADR's and the place being completely booked for the day.

If you are looking to go when the resorts and parks are decorated, then I'd suggested going between the day after Thanksgiving through the week BEFORE Christmas. Much less crowded and you can really enjoy all that the parks and resorts have to offer at that time of year.

If you want to go at Christmas to see all the sites and not go through the crowds and long lines I have a good suggestion...go the week after Thansgiving...when the lines are shorter and the proces for hotels are lower...not sure if they are booked yet but do that NOW for sure...also for short lines...I enjoyed the very merry christmas Party...snow on main street USA...hot chocolate...cookies, unlimited rides on selected open rides(not all are open)DJBlu883 princess:
