Hi all,
We're heading down Aug 20 and returning Sep 4 staying mostly at ASMo and 2 nights at AKL at the end of our trip. I'm so excited about the trip!

Aug 20 - sep 2 at ASMo with Free dining, Sep 2 - Sep 4 at AKL with room discount! WOOOO!:cool1:

This is our second trip down and first time ever staying at AKL (that was my surprise from dh) we have booked a Savannah view room for the last 2 nights of our stay!

Anyone else going down the same time we are? I've not gotten a chance to meet any Disers in person and would love a chance to meet some of you!!!

Too funny......we are also going on Aug 21st for 2 weeks staying at ASMu with FD and just today I priced out our last 2 nights at AKL savannah view. I think I will book it but until I find out if my oldest DD will be joining us I can't fully decide if we can spend that extra money. If DD is joining us then we will be paying for her so we will have to stay at ASMu for the entire trip.

OOoh sooo funny! and awesome! I can't wait to go! I might just drive DH nuts with looking up things and finding out where we want to eat! I'm stepping lightly into the dinning section as I have no clue where we want to go other than Chef Mickeys lol....

Did you upgrade your Dining plan? What are your favorite restaurants???

We will be at the Poly August 24- Sept 2!!! :cool1: Called to book last night and found out we had a 40% off PIN CODE!!!!! :woohoo: No firm plans yet except that it will be DD7's 8th bday on the 29th and she wants to eat with Minnie! So... that'll either be Chef Mickey's OR Cape May Cafe! :goodvibes

So lucky you all are going to WDW and staying at the AKL. That is such a beautiful place, and one of our best stays ever was at AKL! I wanted to go this August but got vetoed by the family who wanted to go to France instead. :sad2: I think I'd enjoy WDW more.

Don't forget to eat at Boma for either breakfast or dinner - or both! It's an amazing restaurant with many interesting, delish choices.

That is sad! I agree I'd enjoy WDW more than france I believe lol...

And Boma! That's on my list of MUST DO!

Ooh! Poly That was my second choice! and at 40% off nice!!!

Dd's want to meet Daisy. in our last 2 trips (WDW and DL) she has eluded us so we'll be doing Tusker house at AK

I'm always excited to go. At least I have a Disney obsessed kid to talk about it with. She likes to discuss the planning.

This will be our 4th FD trip so we have decided to try the QSDP for a change. We had several discussions about upgrading because I thought that DH would not be happy without the TS meals but he said that he really didn't care. So we have opted to stick with the QSDP and then pay OOP for 3 or 4 TS dinners.

We have a few fav TS places our #1 is Cape May Cafe...we have always felt that it is an all around excellent spot. Great food, service and atmosphere. Kona is another fav as well as Crystal Palace. So far I'm having a really tough time trying to pick the 3 or 4 that we will go to. I know that we will go to 50's PT but other than that I'm stumped. I think we will only go into the parks on 2 days so I'm looking mainly at resort restaurants. I have considered going to T-Rex.

We're still flipping around the idea with upgrading the dinning. I'm not sure I want to as I don't like to do sit down's every day of our vacations. It makes for too much planning on my part - don't get me wrong I love to plan - But Dh doesn't like that I tell him we have to go to this park or that one because of dinning so I'm opting for more of a QSDP plan and pay like you for the 3-4 TS meals.

We're considering Tusker House (for Daisy), Chef Mickey's and Kona cafe, Coral Reef and Nine Dragons. Might look at Trex as an alternative too!

We have 10 day park passes this time around so we'll make the most of our park days though they aren't park hoppers so we have to decide carefully on the park day meals lol...

Have to go get some LGMH from Home Depot!

We don't mind having the daily ADR's. We tend to only go to the parks a few days on any trip so often the ADR's are the only plan for the day. Since we adopted that type of plan we have found that our trips are very relaxing....plus DH was a WDW hater until we took a trip that was 12 days long and only went to MK once and one day at each waterpark. The rest of the time was spent hanging out at the pool or strolling around DTD.

We're going Aug 15-30 and staying at CSR!! We got the room on the 30% discount they just offered (had originally booked at Best Western LBV). My DH has been to WDW once before when he was a kid but it will be my DS 7 (turns 8 while we're there!) DD 17 mths at the time and my first trip to WDW. We are very excited. I'm driving my DH crazy with all my planning but he's pretty good with it overall. We do not have the dining plan as we booked with a room only discount and we are getting our Disney tickets with Air miles. I will be making ADR for us at the following restaurants: Boma, 50s Prime Time Cafe, Rainforest Cafe at AK location, 1900 Park Fare, T-Rex (for DS's bday!), Whispering Canyon Cafe. I've left everything else open so that we can have a lot of flexibility during our trip. I'm so excited about our vacation that I almost can't contain it! We are keeping it a secret from our DS (DD can't spill the beans!) because when we started talking Disney a few years back I asked him if he would want to know or if he would want it to be a surprise and he said he wanted it to be a surprise.

Of course, I have all the Disney travel guides everywhere and we have a special Disney savings jar...I have him convinced that we are not going until DD is 4 (2014). He's going to be so excited! It's hard to keep this from him though because I know he would enjoy some of the planning stuff (although he is helping me indirectly without knowing it).

221 days until our 1st family vacation to WDW!!! :yay:

We are going Aug 21, haven't finalized how long we are staying. Have 6nights booked, but we are thinking longer. We have 2 rooms at CBR.

We are driving down and planning on a few days stop in Myrtle Beach on the way home. We did this 2 years ago and the kids loved it. After all the action of WDW for 10 days(our last trip we stayed 10 nights), it was nice to relax on the beach for a few days.

We are keeping this trip a secret from the kids. They have helped plan the last 4 trips, but this one is going to be a surprise. We didn't go to WDW in 2010 and the kids were disappointed after 4 trips in a row. It is going to be hard to keep it quiet, I love how excited they get making a countdown chain, etc.

Hi all,
We're heading down Aug 20 and returning Sep 4 staying mostly at ASMo and 2 nights at AKL at the end of our trip. I'm so excited about the trip!

We are going those exact days. We'll be at BCV and Disney cruise on the Dream. We're very excited. We've been to Disney many times (Thanks to DVC!) and our favourite resort is BCV. We also own at AKV and we'll be staying there this February. You'll love it there. I agree about Boma - we don't like buffets, but we've eaten there a few times and the food is good.

As for adrs, I book them religiously for each dinner and a few breakfasts. We find that dining in our favourite restaurants is definitely part of the experience.

When my husband and I first went to Disney, we didn't book any dining reservations and at the time, they were done at kiosks in the park on the same day. I can't imagine doing that now. I try to book everything at 6mths in advance. I'm an uber planner so I'm good with the 180 days.

The only thing that I am not looking forward to is the heat and humidity. But I guess that's the reason for the pools! Also, the other reason why we love BCV - the SAB!:dance3:

Have fun!

That's Awesome! We surprised the girls with the trip on christmas morning. Although we still have the AKL part a surprise for them that we'll tell them about on our way down. They both love animals so will be thrilled with the savannah view room there!

I hear Whispering Canyon is a fun restaurant!

We thought about keeping it secret until we leave but I can't possibly keep quiet about it that long lol....That sounds like a great trip! How long of a drive is it from where you are?

I'll be booking our few TS at 180 for sure too as I want to make sure to get our dates and times lol...

I'm stumped and can't remember where to find the list of codes! What's SAB???

Yes we do have FD.

Haven't given much though to ADR's yet. Definately want Chef Mickeys and Kona but not sure on the rest yet.

We are driving from Cambridge, ON, just hop on the 401 down to I75. It is about a 22-24 hr drive for us. This will be our 3rd drive. We have flown out of Buffalo and Detroit on 2 trips and driven 2 other trips. We don't mind the drive and drive straight through. Usually leave at night so the kids go right to sleep and dh & I share the driving, switching at every stop.
