This isn't strictly a Dis query but I was speaking with a work colleague yesterday who'd had a bad experience travelling to France so I thought I'd see if anyone else had had a similarly bad experience

My friend was on a great deal of medication which he had to take with him when he went abroad and he was one of the unfortunate souls they picked on to do a bag search. He had any number of perfectly legal prescription tablets for a heart condition but they gave him a really hard time about them. Luckily they did eventually realise that he was a sick person rather than some drug dealer but it made for an unpleasant incident.

Since last I went to Disneyland I've acquired a full medicine cabinet and I am a little concerned that I might end up in the same boat. Has anyone else ever been grilled about legal prescription tablets or given any sort of bother about it.

Nik can't help with this query, but SIL is a pharmacist so I'll ask her over the weekend if no one else can help :)

I would take a copy of your written perscriptions and don't take the tablets out of the bottles or boxes. That can cause real difficulties everywhere.

Hi Nik I work as a Pharmacy Tech. and would advise as above. In addition it might be beneficicial to either have a Dr's letter or Travel Insurance Doc which lists your medications or a repeat prescription form would do and keep the meds in their original boxes with dispensing labels attached. This gives anyone with a query a contact name to check that they are legitimate.

We always have to travel with DD's Asthma meds which includes a big volumatic and at least once we had antibiotics too and we've never had any bother. Hope you won't either :goodvibes

I never have before myself to be honest but I've never had quite so much medication as I have now. Perhaps my work chum was just unlucky that his bag was picked on for a random search. [My aunt's was also gone through when she went across the Channel] Odds are it won't even crop up but I thought I'd take some advice.

Ta all
