family reunion the week after christmas, which I hear can be one of the busiest time of the year at WDW. We are renting a house and staying offsite, but I may book 1 night onsite before that. question for the experts:

1. If I stay onsite for even 1 night, can i take advantage of the 60 day FP+ reservation for my entire trip (even days I am staying offsite)? Also can I book for other family members who are 'linked' to my account even if they don't stay onsite for that one night?

2. Any tips on how to navigate the park during such a busy time?

3. Tips of New years eve fireworks and other festivities that week and how to maximize our time there? Thanks

1. I'm sure someone with more knowledge of that will chime in, as I don't know.
2. My fiance and I went 12/21-1/1 last year, so I can help with this and #3. Just know and understand in advance that the parks will all be crazy busy and lines will be long for everything. Make FP+ for the must dos and be prepared to stand in line for a while for anything else. You won't be able to ride every attraction you want to unless you have more than one day at that park. We were still able to do everything we wanted to and more just by understanding those things and enjoying being there. Don't let the crowds stress you out, you'll be at WDW at the most magical time of the year. Enjoy yourselves!
3. Get a spot EARLY for the New Years Eve MK fireworks! We started to get a spot at 11pm for the midnight fireworks and they weren't letting anyone near the hub already as it had been at capacity since 10pm, two hours before the fireworks! Those fireworks however can be viewed from almost anywhere in the park, so don't worry, just find somewhere that doesn't have an obstructed view of the sky somewhere in the park and you will see them. The real "fun" is after the fireworks. We were right by the extra exit in Tomorrowland and it still took over an hour to get out of the park itself, then almost another hour to get a bus back to our resort. Since you'll be driving it will probably take even longer for you, the lines for the Monorail and Boat were insane and the parking lots were not moving from everyone leaving. I'd advise you to wait a while after the fireworks to try to leave, if you can.
