I thought instead of having New year resolutions :rotfl2: that last a day we could set our goals for 2013. I am so going to be made accountable to stay on track this year.

Goal 1 pay for half our 2015 cruise by April
Goal 2 save house deposit
Goal 3 Christmas in NYC

  • Physical goal: Stay healthy, get fit and lose 10 kgs.
  • Financial goal: Stay out of debt or do not accumulate any new debt.
  • Work goal: More of the same as this year; except not to get too stressed by it all. I don't want or need to climb the corporate ladder.
  • Family goal: Give me the strength to accept people and things I cannot change and the wisdom to let it go and move on.
  • Personal goal: Remember to count to 10 before opening my mouth to speak. Read more self motivation and personal development books; continue to develop hobbies (piano, guitar, photography).
  • Travel goal: USA in Sep/Oct 2013.

Lose 10kg (but 5 would be okay) by the time we leave for our WDW trip in December '13.

Save up at least $20,000 to go toward that trip.

Get more work this year to fund above trip.

To be less cranky with the pre-teen DD and we both survive her first year of high school still loving each other.

To create a more productive vegetable garden - finally.

Stop comparing this dumpy house to our last gorgeous house and treating it with some respect.

Oh, and I'd love a swimming pool and new kitchen but that ain't gonna happen while we're saving up for future holidays :rolleyes1

Love the list. Nice sub headings.

House vs holiday. A very vicious circle. dH and I have been discussing today

Goal 3 Christmas in NYC

You will love Europe. You sure you can't transfer the deposit to someone else or just cut your losses. The. Use seems to be causing you a lot of remorse.

Am I that obvious :rotfl:
We do want to do the cruise it is just a ridiculous amount of money for what it is and there is way more out of pocket expenses on the cruise than we anticipated that damm Disney cruise that we did to make sure I wouldn't be really badly sea sick has set a bar that this one won't be able to meet :lmao:
We have discussed it in great length and decided it is something we want to do we will get to visit country's we wouldn't otherwise visit and I for one just have to suck it up:eek: and get over it once it's paid for and we can concentrate on Christmas in NYC I will be happier. I think my biggest problem is that you have to tie up so much $$$$ so far away from the trip;)

Those are very wise words, definitely adding this to my list
