Ok, so we are going to do Disney on Fri, Sat, and Sun. So I'm trying to figure when Universal/IoA would have the least crowds. Would it be the Wed and Thurs before SWW or should I go Mon and Tues?

With the above being said, will the crowds be heavy enough to invest in an Express pass ($30 x 2 ppl)? We are both 25 and wanting to open and shut down the park, so only complaining will be me wanting to ride on rides again :P lol...

Hmmm, I'd choose the Wed/Thur prior, only because it's that much earlier in the peak season. Probably won't make a big difference though.

As for buying Express, the usual advice is to wait until you get there and gauge the lines yourself, then see if the cost is worth it to you. You never know when a little rain might do the job for you. ;)

I don't think it will really make a difference when you go. If you stick with weekdays the crowds will be at their lowest. Express Plus passes are $31.99 for all days the week before and after except 6/11 which indicates lowest crowds. I would suggest to you...take your pick and go whichever day suits you best.

Thanks for the replies. I'll deff hold off on the EP and guess I gotta figure out which days work best for me.

We did the sci fi/fantasy trip this past week. We did Fri, Sat, Sun SWW and I debated Monday/Tuesday for IOA/US or Tues/Wed, or Wed/Thurs. Eventually chose Tues/Wed and was glad we did. SWW took a huge toll on us; getting up really early for those celebrity autographs (me, 4AM every day) and Monday we just slept in. Played in the pool. Recovered.

Tues/Wed was a huge help in appreciating IOA/US. So having at least a day off in between SWW and IOA/US really helped to change it up and give full attention to another different park.

We also did this the 1st week of June and I still found the lines to be long. Stand by lines were averaging 50 minutes, and with the onsite express pass I was timing from gate to boarding a ride (MIB, Jaws, Superman) 3-5 min.

Thursday was water park day then Friday was back to SWW. Having a down time day in between Universal and Disney especially in the heat really helps.

Definitely go to the parks and check out the crowds before investing for the Express Pass, but for those thinking the crowds were less in beginning of June, nope.

I would check current prices on those express passes. They are going up. Which means they are expecting higher than usual crowds.

Good luck on that waiting thing. IMHO, I don't think that is as good advice as it use to be.
