Go to Universal Ages 7,6, 4 No Car

Hoping to go to Disney in the summer (end of july/start of Aug). Was thinking about going to Universal for 1 day but am really not sure after reading a little about it. Lines are really bad if you are not staying there, not much for younger children to ride? Also, to get a shuttle over there and pay for one day tickets would be a crazy amount of money. We are not going to have a car. In your opinions is it worth it for younger children? We hope to go again to Florida in 2013 and I wonder if we should wait to do Universal.

I LOVE Universal and I would say that they could be a bit young particularly if the cost is prohibitive. There is more to do for little ones than you might think but most of the rides will be at least questionable.

If you do decide to go, in the Studios you have Fievel's Playground which is pretty sweet and the ET ride. There is also the animal show and the Barney show and Shrek. There are also lots of characters.

In Islands of Adventure, there is all of the Dr Seuss things which are amazing plus there are a lot of places to play and things to see in the Comic Strip area. I could see you taking them on the castle tour in Wide World of Harry Potter. There is also the Discovery Center in Jurassic Park and the Sinbad show.

My son would have loved these parks when he was young so if I could have afforded it I would have likely taken him with everything that's there now. He was an adventurous kid too though.
