I had to re-book our 4th of July weekend trip and thinking of going week of Thanksgiving. Touring Plans and Kenny says that's a bad week all around. Anyone care to share how bad the Sat-Wed before Thanksgiving is vs Fri-Sun after? Just trying to figure out when is easier to go. We've gone at CL 7/8 but when I see CL 10 I am kind of wondering if we should push it off and go right before Xmas instead. Man I hate being tied to a school calendar.

It will be better after. The closer to December you get, the less crowded it will be.

Easily would be worse crowds than right after Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure this is something you could predict. The crowds will be there either way. Most people say it gets more crowded the closer you get to Thanksgiving and the days following. We were there from T-giving day on last year, and while it was crowded, we managed fine. I read reports that the Tues. of Thanksgiving week was terrible at MK. But either time frame should see similar crowd levels I would think. The December time frame probably depends on how close to Christmas you are talking about.

If they are offering any discounts the week after, it'll be very crowded.. if they aren't, it'll be a dream crowd week.

It's my favorite week to go but last year they offered discounts and it was stupid crowded. They used to always film the xmas tv show that week as well but last couple years it's been mid nov instead.

Hes talking about leaving the Sunday after Thanksgiving which would be before the dead period you're talking about

Thanks for pointing that out...

In that case to OP: it'll be crowded but the weekend after thanksgiving tends to be a little more crowded but before thanksgiving will not be empty so don't read that as the week before is better.. it's a very small margin.

We went the Friday after Thanksgiving to Monday (three nights) last year. Friday and Saturday weren't much different than an average crowded time - a lot like what I just experienced for Spring Break the first week of April. Sunday was a dream - felt like September! To us as least.

The Girlfriend and I went in the middle of November last year and the crowds were not bad at all. Cool weather, and we caught the end of Food and Wine Festival. We also got to see the beginnings of Christmas time! I would vote before Thanksgiving.

We went the Thurs before and stayed until the Saturday after Thanksgiving and the earlier part wasn't very crowded two years ago. From Wed on it was pretty crowded but not to the point I would never go back. And I don't do crowds very well. As a matter of fact, we had such a great time that we are currently planning our Thanksgiving week trip for this year. We also take advantage of EMH and get to the park at park opening so we have most of the major stuff done before the crowds really get bad. We are limited when we can go because of school and I would rather face crowds in Nov with less heat than in the middle of the summer with lots of heat and humidity and I am from south Louisiana so I know about heat and humidity.

Thank you so much everyone! Since we are also limited based on school break timing, I think we will head there Saturday before Thanksgiving and check out that Wednesday. We had a great time during the first week of April so if it's around that type of crowd level with cooler weather, I will take it!

The last 3 years we have gone that Sunday after Thanksgiving and spent the week.

It has not been that bad at all that week. And a plus going the week after Thanksgiving, all of the Christmas decorations will be up around the ENTIRE property

We've gone the last 2 years the week of Thanksgiving, arriving the Fri/Sat before and staying until the Sat. after. I think of all those days the least crowded period was the weekend before up until Tues. However, we absolutely loved both trips and would be going again that week this year if it weren't for older DS's basketball schedule. It's crowded but not to the point where you can't have a good time.
Normally I believe the week after would be less crowded once you got past the Sat. after, however this year FD ends on the 20th (Mon. before) and starts up again the 25-27th. Therefore I don't know that crowds will be as "low" the week after as they are in past years.

I would say after as the CP and Holidays Around the World don't begin at Epcot until Black Friday.

Gonna try for Black Friday thru the next Saturday. Expecting big crowds thru the weekend and hoping for it to taper off during the week. We are used to mid Feb , early May and early Nov crowds. So we'll see how it compares. if crowds to big looking for lounging at the resort.

After! When we took a November trip, we arrived on Black Friday. That trip had the lowest crowds we've experienced at Disney (and the best weather!).
