I had heard General Motors employees can purchase discounted Disney World tickets because GM sponsors one of the attractions. I have lots of family members that work for GM. Has anyone else heard of this? If so, how do you purchase them with the discount?

I can't remember where I found this information. Just trying to find out if it is true!

I dont know if they do or not but I would have one of your family members go to their Human Resource Department and ask.

The worst thing they can say is no. :Pinkbounc

When I worked for EDS we got a discount, mind you that was 14 yrs ago!!! I'm sure things have changed since then. Have the employee look it up in their benefits book!
Good luck!

As you can see from below, the discount isn't that substantial until you start getting into the park hopper passes.

Directions for GM's Internal Website

"GM employees and retirees can still receive a discount on Disney World tickets. Information regarding this discount can be found by going to the home page of Socrates and clicking on “Common Forms/eForms Library” under the heading “Other Resources.” Next, click on “W” to see all the Walt Disney options. To obtain tickets, you must fill out the Walt Disney World Ticket Request form along with the Walt Disney World GM Employment Verification form and fax both forms to the number listed in the instructions. "

Doug65, can retired employees get this discount as well? How do you get to this site?

JJMO, glad to help.

Cabmom: The rules state that retirees are eligible. The website is only available from inside the GM network, or to those who have the proper clearance on their GM EDSNet ID's. The website is http://socrates.gm.com/ I would imagine, since they probably no longer have access to the website, a retireeeeeeee (I know how to start spelling it, I just don't know when to stop) would have to contact their retirement benefits administrator. If you would like to PM your e-mail address to me, I can get the necessary forms for you; they may have further information. I'm not at work now so it will have to happen tomorrow.
