My husband has celiac disease and when we travel, we usually get our food from grocery and health food stores, both because of the expense and the risk of gluten contamination in restaurant food. Disney is pretty good about accommodating special diets, but there's still the expense.

Are the kitchenettes in the studios equipped well enough to be able to manage preparation of three meals a day eating if you eat only simple meals that don't require an oven?

You'll have a microwave, toaster and coffee pot. You'll get a small stack of paper plates and paper bowls, plasticware and a few real mugs and glasses. If you need anything different, you'll want to bring those items with you.

Studios have a microwave (it's not all that big), toaster, coffee maker & undercounter fridge (freezer compartment is not too big; iirc maybe about size of shoebox but haven't stayed in studio in a long while so don't recall exactly. Some members will bring Foreman Grill, or slow cooker or panini press - you get the idea. Many threads can be found on preparing meals in studios, if you do a search you'll turn up some. 1 bedroom villas have full kitchens. My sister has celiac disease & niece has nut allergy; Disney is very accommodating at table service restaurants & counter serve locations as well. Check out allears.net; there is good advice there on dining at Disney with special dietary needs, etc. and check out or post questions on Dining Board here on the DIS too.

Best wishes :goodvibes
