I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. My blood tests were positive and my biopsy is next Monday. I was hoping that the blood test was wrong. But my GI told me that my results were very high and there is no question that I have celiac. She wants me to start eating gluten free as much as possible but not strictly until after my biopsy. We are leaving for Disney on Christmas Day. I added my gluten allergy to our reservations but I am stressed about what I am going to eat and drink as far as alcoholic beverages.

So please share with me you recommendations on where to eat, what to eat and what alcoholic beverages are gluten free at WDW.

Thank you so much.

Ds is gf and we have been successful at many places. Go into it with confidence. I believe there are kiosks to assist with what to eat where but we have never needed to use them. I just remind them he is gf at the restaurant. Alcohol not sure.

Other than Japan or China (due to soy sauce) you will be able to eat anywhere. Buffets you may want to ask them to prepare you something fresh as cross-contamination can be a problem. My son ate from the salad bar but hot food they served to him. In regards to alcohol usually wine and vodka are your best bet. I'm not sure if any place would carry gluten free beer.

Just google gluten free alcohol, you would be surprised what is gluten free and what is not. Not all wine is gluten free, most tequila is gluten free, Angry Orchard beer is gluten free. A lot of people are gluten free now and there are many options!

We have been GF for years and visit Disney every three months. You will have no problem at any of the table service dining (including the asian places). My recommendation is to mostly eat at Table service dining. They have bread and better drink options. Quick service the food takes about double the amount of time to get your food as normal. Lots of blogs about being GF on the Disability Dis site. If you are new to this just talk to the chef at each locations they will help a lot

The best QS places we experienced gluten free was Be Our Guest (lots of options including soups, desserts, etc) and preordering makes the wait time almost nonexistent. Sunshine Seasons grill section was completely gluten free when we were there and the food is yummy. I'm especially partial to the Salmon. And Mara at AKL is great. The African stew is delicious.
