Question about Counter Service Gluten Free options. Daughter (4) has Celiac, and is on a GF diet. I've had a list sent to me in the past from Disney about GF options, but they are no longer publishing it, which makes me a bit uneasy, even though I've heard wonderful things about they way they handle allergies.
Can I assume that at CS places, there will be options such as rolls for hot dogs/burgers; GF chicken tenders, french fries in dedicated fryers? I know it won't be at each CS place, but if it was listed on the old list, is there a good chance that it still has GF options?

Yes, gf is readily available everywhere just mention you have an allergy. A lot of the rolls/buns are currently Udis.

I will forewarn you, a few weeks ago at HS I was told the only dedicated CS friers were at Backlot express. We had to run across the park, so try to plan to be there if you need a counter service at Hollywood.
Columbia Harbor House is also the place we were recommended to go to at MK.

Ack! They don't? I just started planning a trip for November... Now I have visions of trekking all over MK searching for the ONE CS that has gluten free mac and cheese. Followed by "I'll get you some fries. Oh, but not from here."

For gluten free counter service we felt like we ahd a lot of options in every park. At MK we ate at Casey's Corner (GF buns!), Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Rays. We loved Cosmic Rays because we felt like we had a lot of options there, but I think we got chips instead of fries.

At AK we enjoyed Flame Tree BBQ a lot. The kids only ordered hotdogs there, but the chicken and ribs were so great that they ate a lot of our food too! :rotfl2:

In DHS we love the ABC Commissary for GF food. Last time they even gave us extra dessert because we were the only people there! :thumbsup2

In Epcot we just snack our way around the world. Get a couple of tacos in Mexico, then some sticky rice in Japan, maybe a cotten candy in the USA.

You should still have plenty of choices as long as you are flexible.

I didn't have any problems at any counter-service restaurant. We ate at Columbia Harbour House (it was the first time I had chicken fingers in over a year - they were fantastic!) in Magic Kingdom, Pizzafari at Animal Kingdom (cheese pizza and salad), and at the food court at ASM a few times.

My favourite restaurant hands down was Sunshine Seasons at Epcot - they had a TON of choices. I was able to get the pork chop and mashed potatoes without a wait, as that whole station was gluten free, and they had three desserts available (not just the cookie or brownie - I had creme brulee).

I didn't get glutened once in six days - I'm sure you will find lots for your little one to eat.

I agree that there are plenty of options for people who are gluten intolerant and willing to be flexible.

As it happens, my kid is gluten free, vegetarian, and not particularly flexible. GF mac and cheese is one of those fall-back meals. When the whole day seems to crumble before your eyes, and you've spent all day saying "No, we can't have that", it was an easy choice.

Ah well, complaining about it won't fix it. I'll carry some of those peanut butter to go tubs in my pocket, and if all else fails, she can have a banana with peanut butter to tide her over.
