Let me first say that we LOVE Disney and all of the accomodations they make for gluten free diners. They have made our vacations worry free since DD was diagnosed with celiac. However, I do have a question...has anyone else received Mickey waffles that are hard on the outside and gummy on the inside? I am always so excited that DD can have DD waffles and then when they bring them out she takes one bite and doesn't like them...and I have to say that the last two times I tasted them also and they just didn't taste right and the texture was very weird...super crunchy outside and slimy, chewy middle. I'll also add that we pretty much maintain a gluten free home, so I mostly eat gluten free along with my daughter unless I eat out somewhere at home, so I am definitely used to eating gluten free. We make our waffles with Pamela's pancake and baking mix which we love. I'm just wondering if we got a few bum batches of Mickey waffles. Thank you!

We've gotten them like that. I think sometimes the waffle press isn't correctly heated. DD13 will just dunk them in maple syrup with makes them soggy anyway. DD10 won't eat them like that. She's not a big fan of the taste of Bob's Red Mill mix to begin with so when the texture's off she'll just push them aside. Luckily she can eat eggs and because she can actually eat gluten (like I said in my other response, she just has lots of other allergies) she can eat some of the cereals and loves all kinds of fruit plus breakfast meats so she still has plenty of other breakfast options. DD13 can't have eggs of gluten so she's stuck with just the waffles with breakfast meats and fruit, though she enjoys the waffles regardless of the texture.

If you're eating at the location, as for another batch if they're not to your liking. They should be cooked through and that doughiness means they're not fully cooked inside.
