We are heading to WDW in just a little under 2 months and I have a couple of ADR's and looking for some advice. We wanted to try new restaurants instead of our normal go to ones. We have never tried Boatwrights but found they do a gf crawfish and can't wait for that. The next one is our issue- we currently have an ADR for Kona cafe for breakfast and I don't know really what their options are- personally I am a pancake, waffle, french toast (would love tonga toast lol) kind of girl.

If they can only offer basically eggs and meat- I don't want to go there....

so which other restaurant would you suggest for the best GF sit down meal not including- California grill, Raglan Road, Crossroads or Teppan Edo.

TIA:thumbsup2

Kona has allergy friendly Mickey waffles that are GF. I read from a review they also offered pancakes. Then the eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes are all GF as well.

We were just there over Christmas and New Year's. I have been gluten free for a few months and this was my first trip to Disney GF. They were WONDERFUL!!! I can't say enough about the chefs, managers, staff, etc. I ate very well. I was very nervous because I don't like to call attention to myself and had this stupid idea in my head that I was being a pain, but it was a great vacation. We ate at Boma's. The chef came out, took me around the buffet and told me what I could eat which was just about everything. He then told me to let our waitress (Vivian, great CM we have had her before) when I was ready for dessert and she brought me over a whole plate of desserts. If I was more tech minded I would post a picture!! Narcoosee's was great too, as was Teppan Edo. Germany was okay, not as much and really not any desserts.

The food courts are good. They had GF hamburger rolls and I was able to get a great burger and french fries. Also we went to the bakery at the Boardwalk and I bought a package of 4 mini cupcakes from Babycakes. I also saw them in the food area at the Beach Club and bought some dessers there as well.

I don't think you will have any problems. I was told before that Disney is a great place for GF and it really is. Oh and by the way I did not do anything before I went. I just told the people at the various restaurants I needed a GF menu.

Good Luck and Enjoy The Magic!!

For breakfast, we LOVE Boma! We are trying it for dinner for the first time our next trip. We tried 1900 for breakfast on our last trip in October and weren't impressed. You can get the GF Mickey waffles and muffins and such there.

We are trying Boatwrights for the first time our next trip as well.

Germany is one of our must do restaurants. My 12 yo DD, the one with celiac in our family, loves it there!

We also like Olivia's at OKW. We haven't been for breakfast, but it has the standard fare.

The new Trattoria al Forno has a wonderful allergy menu. They use GF safe methods with even some mainstream foods. I do not have to avoid gluten but do have to avoid wheat (plus other and dairy and egg) and their GF menu was huge. I had the Romaine Salad and the Braised Beef Bolognese. So good. Plan to eat there again in October.

We go to Disney all the time and my son is GF as he allergic to wheat, you can see some of our experiences in my trip reports in my signature. But for some really truly great GF reviews check out these two amazing women's blogs:

Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
http://www.glutenfreedairyfreewdw.com/

GF in Orlando
http://www.gfinorlando.com

These two blogs have been amazing for all our new GF finds in Disney!!!

I 2nd the blog info..... I love them both, esp. gfinorlando great great tips- and nobody does GF better than Disney!!! just returned from 2 weeks of fantastic food! (I lovelovelove the allergy chicken tenders)

We also just took our first trip with GF and other allergy issues for my wife and my youngest daughter. Every table service restaurant was absolutely wonderful. Each time one of the chefs came out and talked with my wife about the options that fit each of their allergy profiles.

We ate at Sanaa, Yak & Yeti, Be Our Guest, Hollywood & Vine, Rose & Crown, 1900 Park Fare, and Kona. My wife loved the options she was given at each restaurant.

I have needed to eat gluten free for about 8 years now, and I have gone on maybe 6 trips to WDW in that time period. Every single one has been absolutely incredible! I have never had an issue finding something to eat at any restaurant in WDW. Some of the stands will not have GF options (funnel cakes, for ex), but generally there is no shortage of food! The chefs are always extremely welcoming and helpful, and are usually willing to go to great lengths to meet your dietary needs.

Good luck! There's so much yummy out there!

Kona cafe has GF mickey waffles. They told me once they get them from Ohana next door. This is actually one of our favorite hidden gems. Never crowded, amazing food, and convenient location. I had the waffles last time with the pineapple and macadamia nut topping. Was amazing.

On the last trip Sanaa was amazingly good, and different from typical disney food. I also have never gotten glutened at a buffet. I liked Tusker House for lunch and Holllywood & Vine. My first trip there GF I was too afraid to eat at a buffet so if you haven't done so try one out. Sunshine Seasons is my favorite QS. I have done DDP on 3 trips in 5 years so I have eaten at a lot of places, let me know if you have questions about a specific one, I will try to check back in the next few days.

Tonga Toast was not available GF when we were there. We did have GF waffles, which were yummy, and pancakes. I reviewed some of those with photos here . There breakfast was nice. It wasn't my favorite GF breakfast in WDW, but it was good!
For dinner, there are SO many good choices. It would be incredibly hard to narrow down to one. If you are only talking resort restaurants, though, and if you like exotic food options, try Sanaa! It is a beautiful experience with the animals right outside the window. The Yacht Club restaurants were both very good and accommodating (I ordered something off menu each place, and turned out really good). Coronado and Carribean resorts had surprisingly yummy TS restaurant options. I wasn't a fan of the Narcoosee's, and I didn't like our experience at Kona for supper, but Ohana was great. There are so many good options! I don't think you can go too far wrong.
