I would love to hear what gluten free meals and treats you've had throught Disney World, including table service, counter service, stores (prepackaged I guess) and carts. Brenda Bennett is very helpful, I usually request a list of options before each trip (for DD who has celiac), but it doesn't mention every restaurant/counter service, and I've sporadically read about great things not on her lists. I'd love to hear your experiences so I (and you) can compile a list of great gluten free things in the World. Thank you!!

I'll start with a few things I remember from our trips last year for DD:

-50's Prime Time Cafe: GF meatloaf and mashed potatoes (DD loved it!)

-Crystal Palace breakfast: GF Mickey shaped pancakes and freshly prepared scrambled eggs from the back, they also offered Van's waffles which we did not need

-Tusker House breakfast: Mickey waffles, yogurt from the kitchen (the chef insisted on it in case of cross contamination in the buffet)

-Plaza Restuarant: cheeseburger (no bun), french fries, ice cream (i can't remember which flavors they offered)

-Mama Melrose: personal size cheese pizza (Ener-G crust, I think)

-Boardwalk Bakery: chocolate chip cookie (prepackaged from French Meadow)

-Garden Grill: They had brownies (French Meadow), plus green beans, and I think mashed potatoes plus some of the meat but I can't remember which of the meats.

-Liberty Tree Tavern lunch: Turkey and mashed potatoes; dessert was what they called a brownie, but it was shaped like a little dome and tasted like chocolate cake (very good!) and vanilla ice cream.

-Cosmic Ray's: roasted/rotissiere chicken, oven baked french fries (takes about 15 minutes so plan ahead), I can't remember the dessert option

-Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast: Pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit

-Popcorn and Mickey ice cream bars at carts throughout the World

-Liberty Inn: Cheeseburger with GF bun

-Biergarten: Ener-G rolls, pasta with cheese sauce (for DD); the chef did walk us through the buffet to point our GF items, but DD was pretty selective so he offered to make pasta for her. French Meadow brownie for dessert.

On our last trip in February, we traveled with a friend who is allergic to gluten. I can't tell you exactly what he ordered or ate, but I can tell you that he was completely impressed with the food, particularly the rolls. No matter what restaurant we went to, he had plenty to eat. We did many CS and several TS. At all of the TS, the chef came out and walked him through the buffet lines. At Tusker House for lunch, there was very little he could eat, so the chef made him something not on the menu. Like I said, he was very impressed and commented that he hadn't eaten that well since before he went GF.:thumbsup2

This is a re-do of a thread that had been merged.
