The info I got from Disney did not include any information on Via Napoli for Gluten Free. I did contact Special Diets but as this is the weekend I figure I probably won't hear from them until Monday and I would like to lock up our final meal reservations tomorrow. So I thought I would ask the experts here :worship:

I know that Tutta Italia does have GL pasta, so I was hoping ...pixiedust:

They do have GF pasta, but no GF pizza which was disappointing. I've heard reports that some of the managers are less than accommodating with GF requests. When we went in Aug. my DS wanted pizza but sadly it wasn't available. They offered him pasta as his only option. I've heard other reports that managers have told guests that can't guarantee that anything is GF, including the sauce. They also wouldn't let me DS have vanilla gelato as they couldn't confirm this was GF either. They didn't say anything to us about the possibility that the sauce might not be GF & my DS suffered no ill effects after eating there. I'm not 100% sure but I think Via Napoli may be one of the non-Disney owned restaurants. In general we find those restaurants are not as accommodating. HTH.

The Previous poster is correct. Neither Via Nappoli nor Tutto Italia are Disney owned. Neither are San Angel Inn or La Hacienda in Mexico. I also believe that the restaurants in Japan and Morroco are not Disney owned.

I admit I have no idea what exactly gluten is, so I can't help you there. I'm sure that you could call the restaurant and ask to speak to someone about an allergy and they would be able to help you.

Gluten allergy, or celiac disease is basically an reaction to wheat. It ranges from simply not having wheat in the meal, to having the entire meal prepared on dishes and utensils that haven't touched wheat.

To the OP, any TS restaurant that takes ADR's is supposed to accommodate any allergy with advance notice. You may only get one meal choice option, but they will have something to serve you. Obviously a restaurant that specializes in wheat based dishes may not the same number of options as others, but they should have at least 1 dish for you.

Unfortunately some people may not be happy with only 1 choice, but for any allergy that affects less than 1 out 100 Americans, I can't see them having more than that. For vegetarians, roughly 1 out of 50 people, many places don't have anything beyond a salad or appetizer. Coming from a family that has both, when we even find one dish that meets our needs we are very happy.

Thanks! We are deciding about that one option. I was hoping that they could make their chicken parmasean without breading and choose the one pasta type to go with it. But it sounds like they might not be too accomodating. I did get a direct e-mail from the manager of Tutta Italia when I wrote to special diets in Epcot. He explained that there is one type of pasta there and you can chosee from a couple of sauces that are GF. I was hoping for the same for Via Napoli. I guess I can book the remaining ADR's and just wait to book this one. Or just go Mexican because there are more choices.
