Hi! I have heard what a wealth of knowledge you all are so hoping you can help me out with my question. This is our first trip (out of many!) with a gluten allergy...

We are going to SW in a few weeks and we have the all day dining plan. Does anybody have experience with eating Gluten Free? We will definitely be asking for a manager at each meal but just thought I would ask if any one restaurant was more knowledgable than another. The reviews I have found online are a few years old. Thanks!

(I posted this on the SW page also but thought I might get more answers here)

Yes, you need to speak to a manager/chef for each meal. Both the bakery and the outdoor drink area in Happy Harbour have bagged "allergy free" snacks.

You can easily find cut fruit and salads at most locations(in case you want to just grab something quick).

I'm not GF but I do have a list of other allergies. My family took a day trip to SW last month. We ate at Voyagers Smokehouse. Not my ideal dining local but I was able to get a safe meal. The chicken is on its own grill with the sauces added after they are removed. I also got the largest fruit salad ever instead of fries.

For dinner we did the Makahiki luau. I do wish my grandpa told me about that before the drive down. As it was, they didn't have time to get anything special in for me but they did get me a safe meal. Unfortunately it was the same kind of chicken i had for lunch plus steamed rice and fruit salad for desert. I was told that they could have gotten a DF desert with more warning.

You should be able to find something to eat. I did notice allergy snacks at several places. Plus they have icees all over the place for a sweet treat. I don't know if I would do the dining deal but I don't fear eating at SW.
