Glue & Styrofoam??

I need help please. I have this styrofoam 3 tier Cupcake Stand it is the smooth type of stryofoam. Can I use a glue gun or any other type of glue? I would like to decorate it maybe ribbon? It is for my parents 50th. And I would like to reuse it for my nieces 16th.

What are you planning to glue to the stand?

Glue on styrofoam is really tricky- most glue will eat away at it and it will fall apart or start to disapate as the glue begins to set.

If you get a glue that works for styrofoam you may not be able to pull anything off of it to reuse it with new items.

I was thinking ribbon. But I think I could use pins. It just looks so white. And my cupcakes might not be that pretty. But I am channeling "cupcake wars"

There is a glue that is made for styrofoam. I discovered it while shopping for styrofoam balls and the glue was right there. You may also be able to find it where the craft stores sell all types of glue.
