This may be a weird question. I bought some glowsticks for the rugrats at the dollar store. My question is, how do we carry them around the park without them bending? We are only taking a backpack with us so I anticipate problems.

Depending on the age of your "rugrats" you might have old plastic baby bottles in the cupboard -- slip the glowsticks into that (or a similar container) and they should be safe.

Glowsticks usually take a bit of effort to actually light so as long as you dont have wicked heavy stuff in your back pack I think they would be fine in the front pouch part. Also, even if they do break sometime during the day, they usually last a loooong time.

:wizard: Another tip is when you get back to the hotel at night, if you put them in the freezer they can last longer, even until the next night usually. :wizard:

I just want to chime in from the VMK forums and say that...

The larger (what I would call "regular") size, take some effort to activate. The necklace size though activate with almost no effort. I have kept them in shipping tubes which works very well. I have also taped them to dowel rods...that doesn't work so well.

We bought online some LED glowing necklaces and pins for a decent price. The pins were 30 cents each in bulk and the necklaces ranged from $3-5 each but were reuseable and pretty cool as well.

They do last a long time. Ours was still glowing the next day!

They should be fine in their original packaging. The big glow sticks are harder to break. The small ones break easy, but if you keep them in the tubes or packaging they come in, they'll be fine.
