Glow Sticks

This may seem like a silly question but --

For those of you who bring GlowSticks with you from home, to save some money:
Ya know how you have to "snap" them to activate them? How long will they last after they are snapped? I would hate to snap them in the morning, and then they would not work by the time night time came. But then again, I can't imagine leaving them packaged, I don't think they would fit in my bag!

Does this make sense? Im just fearing that my plan will backfire and I will be stuck with 7 un-glowing glow necklaces, and 7 upset children.

I have taken them several years and have never "snapped" one by accident, but I try and be really careful with them. Bring extra with you and if some get snapped by accident, you'll have back-ups.

Once snapped, they last for several hours, I'm not sure it would last all day though.

We'll be in the World at the same time (I'm 6/21 - 6/30).

after snapped they only last for a few hours. I would suggest buying the bracelettes that can be snapped together. They are shorter and thus easier to carry in your bag.

We get a locker at every park and kept them in there till it was dark.. worked for us. And the bracelets were in some kind of tube so they wouldn't snap in a bag~

If you don' keep them in a protective container to keep them from getting snapped they will more than likely get snapped before their time. No glow stick before it's time. Sorry. umm humm! Any way, the skinny ones will snap really easily so you have to leave them in the container they come in, other wise you'll have them all glowed out before night time if broken during the day. We bought them in the really long sticks and just packed them in the suitcases hoping they wouldn't get broken, took them out of the paper packaging before we went to the park and put them into my back pack (I had a normal sized back pack, not a smaller one) still in the plastic container to keep them from getting broken. I think it was some Disney magic that kept them in good condition the whole time. The bracelets usually work best, they have connectors that you can make into a necklace if you like ,also check the dollar stores to see if they have the little tubes that have the earings and bracelets all together, it's still just a dollar, I found them in the Dollar Tree. All kinds of colors to pick from.

I use the sticks about 6 inches long that come with a black plastic string to tie around your neck.
They easily fit in my Baggalini. I carry them with me all day and then snap then at night.
Never had a problem.

A hint that works for me. If you have a freezer put them in and the next day they will work again

Occasionally you will come across a dud or accidentally snap one so it's always wise to bring more than you think you'll need.
