can anyone post the site where they got the glow stick necklaces? I know someone posted a great site and even though i searched for it I cannot find it for the life of me...

it wasnt oriental trading or ebay (people are charging an arm and a leg for shipping! someone wants $45 to ship 100 necklaces! yes they are only having a 50 cent BIN but 45 bucks to ship a tube! come on!

We buy glow necklaces, bracelets, sticks, extra long sticks, and balls (which are really cool) at Dollar Tree. The ball is like 12 glow necklaces that come with 2 plastic connector things to push the glow necklaces into to make a ball. You can sometimes find a tube of 15 necklaces for $1. We will buy a package of 6 to get the little plastic connectors that make the bracelets then reuse those because the tube of 15 doesn't come with any.

The glow stuff has already been out for several weeks so they might have a very limited selection now. They go fast here.

HTH!

After reading many posts about glow necklaces, I checked our It's a Dollar. They had a large rack full of everything imaginable. I picked up necklaces (2 for a $1.00), braclets (same), glow balls on cord ($1) and glow sticks on a cord ($1). Try your local Dollar stores. Ours had plenty! :goodvibes

I've bought the glow necklaces and bracelets at our local "$1" store (where everything is one dollar) but I found the quality was definitely lacking! They weren't very bright and the connectors didn't stay connected so well.

If I am just buying them for a week of vacation and for my own 2 kids (in other words I don't need hundreds of them!) I get them at Target. They cost more but are nicely made and glow as brightly as the ones they sell in the parks....and last longer. You might want to try out one from a dollar store before you buy a bunch! I didn't think they were worth it.

But ... definitely try one package of the $1 brand first. The brand our Dollar Tree carries are still glowing in the morning. The connectors aren't great, but sufficient as my kids take them off after about 5 minutes anyway to carry them around. As for the brightness, I can't really say if it is lacking, but my 2 and 4 year old are happy with them!

They have all kinds of glow stuff.
The 8" glow bracelets are $8.99 per 100, $29.50 per 500.
The 22" glow necklaces are quite a bit higher.
Shipping is pretty reasonable.
Great quality, bright and long lasting.

I bought 300 sticks last time we went and I made a lot of friends with them!
One evening after a rain-out of Fantasmic we boarded a bus full of cold, wet, disappointed kids (of all ages).
I started handing out the glow sticks the mood changed quickly. Everybody got at least one. I made a ball out of some using the "ball connectors" illuminationz supplied and that thing was soon bouncing all over the bus.

People just couldn't stop thanking me, and all my new friends even applauded when I got off (wait - was that a good thing?).
The sticks made our Wishes fireworks cruise more fun too.

Well worth the $$$ in my opinion.

We normally just buy bracelets and hook some together to make a necklace if need be.

I purchased mine on ebay at a very reasonable price. They were made by Rock-n-Glow and there were 100 in the container.

I purchased them about 2 years ago and they still work great. We take them camping with us at Knoebels and where ever else we may go. It's great for DD to wear so we can keep an eye on her at the park. Kids come up to us and ask where we bought them and I have to tell them we brought them from home. We keep them at the campsite for the kids to play with at night. BIG HIT!!!

Note: If we use them for around the house (July 4th, parties, etc..), then we freeze them to reuse. It works...

You might not want/need this feedback, but I found the glow necklaces and sticks in Walmart. The sticks were $1, the necklaces were $1.50ish. Yes, you might pay more but I enjoyed the convenience of just getting them at the store where I grocery shop. I found them by the party stuff.

I bought the ones at WDW and they still run...we will use them this year...I think they were 3 or 5 bucks...and I am getting years of use out of them...I think they were worth the money and they are cool looking and have a switch to turn off...

but if you are talking like the other kind I got them at Dollar Tree...

:cool1:

There were necklaces at our Dollar Store that were on strings, so you don't need to worry about connectors not staying closed.

My dollar store near my house has headband ones that actually are mickey ears I bought them last year for our trip it was awsome! and they were only a dollar each!

I agree, they're not very bright.

you can look ot orientaltrading.com they might have what you are looking for. it will be in bulk not sure how much though. hope that helps!

What about the kind Walmart sells that are 88 cents? Are they any good? I didn't have time to really check it out (as far as how many are in a package, etc) but I did see glow necklaces and sticks in their 88 cent aisle.

I second that, but they also have the stick kind that hang from a cord--- those are much brighter than the little sticks.

I bought some of these for under $3 at WalMart. They are called Funtasticks and are made by Garrity. Thay have four different colors: green, red, blue, white. They are cool.

My kids need flashlights for dark rides - we are using these in place of flashlights. They are very lightweight and very bright. They are like an LED light inside of a colored plastic tube.

I searched around eBay and found 200 glow bracelets for 18.90-- including shipping from glowfun.com. I did the same thing as extreme8 when we were there-- handed them out to everyone around us! It was a blast--people were so tickled. The bracelets can be linked together to make a necklace, and mine came with the glow ball attachments, too-- I saved all my green ones for next Fri! What a lot of fun for a low price. Good luck!

We have had lots of luck with the bracelets and balls from the $ Tree but the longer necklaces don't always glow all the way through. The kids love the thick band bracelet ones the best. Ours usually still glow in the morning. We have found 15 pack bracelets tubes once in a while too I try to stock up when they get those in.
