Just thought that I would share a budget tip.

Our local Dollar Tree has the glow necklaces in stock. They have two necklaces and two bracelets in each package and as the name implies it is only $1. They haven't been in stock for a while and they explained that they only receive them at certain times. So you might want to check now even if your trip is months away. They keep real well, my son just used some for a school dance that I had left over from Halloween.

We bought alot of these for our trip last year and the kids loved them. We just kept them in the van and retreived them around dusk. If anyone has ever been to a Disney park after dark you know that these very same necklaces sell for about $3 EACH.

we used these for our last trip (the sticks too) and everyone kept asking us where we got them. When I told them we brought them with us from home they were impressed.....Thanks again disboards!

Keep watching because I have gotten a small tube of glow necklaces at the Dollar Tree. I think there were like 15 of the bracelet sizes and it includes the connectors. I have seen them quite a few times and usually pick more up when I am there.

You can get a tube of 100 glow bracelets with connectors on ebay for under $20 shipped. I buy them for halloween to pass out to the kiddies every year. You can connect the bracelets together to make necklaces. I took a few to WDW last year and the kids loved them!

I also bought 100 on ebay for about $15. They are always available, it's great to share with all the kids around also. We made a few kids happy during lines & parades that way :)

Just this second I went to Ebay and won 100 bracelets, also. All for only 1 cent- of course the shipping is $12.99- I think I've just discovered my new addiction! Ebay. I've nominated myself as the chief shopper for all 15 of us coming in June. I have to quit on the sweatshirts, though, it's hot in June. But I'm having a ball!

wow, what a great idea! I'm going to the dollar store today, can't wait for ebay shipping, we leave in two weeks...woo-hoo!

I got several of these last year and 2 out of 5 did not work. You may want to get a few extras just in case.

Our family usually buys a certain color... last year we were all glowing in purple. It makes it easy to spot each other in a crowd when we are looking for each other!

Ebay is a great way to get a good deal, but just be careful. I have shopped on Ebay and sold as well and never knew that you could buy the glow necklaces. After looking at a few of the auctions, some were a good deal, most were not.

Let me explain. For $1 at the Dollar Tree I bought a package that had two 22" necklaces and two 8" bracelets. If I bought 25 packages that gives me 50 22" necklaces and 50 8" bracelets for $25.00. Most of the Ebay auctions were for 11" glow sticks, that would take two to make one. Get it?

An auction that could be won for say 100 11" sticks would make 50 22" necklaces. If you win the auction for $10 and spend $10 in shipping it seems like a good deal, however for just about the same amount of money you could get the same or more from the Dollar Tree (ie.. the bracelets.)

No, I do not work for the Dollar Tree or own stock, just wanted to pass this info on because at first glance the Ebay looked like a great way to go until I started thinking (tends to get me into trouble sometimes, LOL.) Plus you do not have worry about getting the product on time or at all in some cases.

Still a very good idea though, just be cautious that's all.

I still vote for ebay for them. For less than $20 shipped you get 100 and you get the connectors so you could make long necklaces, do multi colors, have just bracelets, or whatever. (and no I don't sell them on ebay).

Went to the dollar store and bought our glow necklaces in pink, purple and yellow, my girls will be so excited! The packages are huge though!

I just don't need 100 (I also worried about shipping, we leave in two weeks), I got 12 necklaces and 12 bracelets for $6. I also bought my rain ponchos at dollar tree too, 2 per package!

Went back yesterday and bought some more:bounce: Never can have too many ya know!

Only 15 days and we'll be in the Happiest Place on Earth!

Just bought 100 from Ebay- $13.00 including shipping- then 11 year old DD got the wild idea that she could make $$ for vacation if she ordered tons and sold them. Got 500 for $35 dollars(including shipping.) If she sells them 4 for a dollar, she will come out $95 dollars ahead- now lets wait and see how ambitious she really is.

I just bought 300 for $20. I'll use some for sleepovers for my kids, for July 4th and still have some for WDW.

What a great idea about a kid selling some. I'm trying to think if we have any event where my kids could do it, and raise some money, too!
