Glo necklaces - good, better, best?

I seem to recall a thread from some months back that debated the good, bad and the ugly of glo necklaces. There was some good natured debate about where to purchase the "best" ones - dollar store vs. party store vs. target. I wish I had paid more attention - and now I can't find the thread!

Will those who purchase their glo necklaces ahead of time please stand up? I want to bring some with us, and I figure if I'm going to lug them down there I might as well do my best to get the ones that last the longest. :-)

Thanks, guys!

DH just bought 2 six-packs at the local dollar store. We figure that should hold us with 3 kids for a week.......we'll know after the first couple of rides whether we really need them or not.....

I order in bulk from Rave websites. They have long lasting glows and lots of LED toys too. I buy the battery operated LED lights for costume supplies too. They come in useful. We've been deep-sea jellyfish, nuclear robots, and alien aircraft.

I bought some LED necklaces with batteries wholesale for about .50/piece. They can be turned on/off and the little watch battery replaced. Seemed more environmentally friendly to me, as they can be used over and over and DS (age 3) didn't get upset as he does with regular glo sticks when they stop working.

I wasn't very picky and was looking for cheap and simple, I bought mine at the dollar store. 15 thin 6inch glowsticks in a tube for $1. I bought 4 of them and used 1 tube of 15 glowsticks each night. DS6 and DS3 got 2-3 to play with (you could also connect them together) and I handed out the others to their newly found friends at parade and night shows. The came in assorted colors and probably glowed for 12-15 hours. A fabulous bargain for me, and the little boys absolutely loved them.

Since my boys were little, they couldn't care less about quality or sizing. Older kids may be more picky.

I buy the cheap ones at the Dollar Tree. Every once in awhile one may not work, but overall they are fine. My DD doesn't wear them for more than 15 min before she's giving them away to other kids anyways.

Like some of the others above me, I usually buy my glowsticks at Dollar Tree. They usually have several different kinds. I buy a few of each and the kids love them. They are usually still glowing the next morning.

I bought the glow sticks with the clips on them, and clipped them to the back of everyone in our group at parade time! It was VERY handy!

We always have a ball with the dollar tree stuff - we have gotten the magic wands, swords, barretts, necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and the tubes of a bunch where you make a really cool ball - we just have fun with them, hang 'em on the stroller etc....also good to have ones on a little kid in a crowd!!!

I buy my from the Dollar Store-- I get a bunch at Halloween, then realize that I have so many from b4! Just remember to purchase NECKLACES--it's a pain in the butt connecting the bracelets to make a necklace!! (Even I wear them down there)
