I think this was one of the best shows ever. I love Idina Menzel as Lea Michele's mom. I actually think they look alike. And, who wouldn't want Taye Diggs as a daddy?? Oh, wait, I suppose he doesn't come with the package.

Great show, though, and LOVED the music. Emilie walked out the door this morning singing Piano Man. I love how she is being exposed to some great music from my growing up days. I just wish that she didn't think that Mr. Shu sang it best. You know, he's better than the Beatles and now Billy Joel.

I completely agree that it was amazing! The songs were great. I especially loved the Dream On duet...I love Aerosmith! DH missed it, so I'm watching it again tonight. He is a theatre teacher and he is going to die over some of the comments, especially NPH's Self-Help group for musical junkies and then his meltdown in the bar.

It was really good last night! I LOVE Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith and I love Glee for casting them. Of course they fibbed, there was alot of speculation that Idina was going to turn out to be Rachel's mom and they came right and said that no, she is not Rachel's mom. No biggie, I liked the reveal of that last night, but I hope there isn't some twist where it turns out that she really isn't.

Idina was a perfect fit for the role! Good casting.

I loved last night's episode too!!! I got goosbumps during the Dream On duet and Safety Dance is one of my favorites from my teens :)

Hope those end up on a cd!

I checked Amazon last night for the MP3 download of Idina and Rachel singing I Dream a Dream and it was listed, but won't be released until May 25th, checked the Dream On duet and that will also be released for MP3 download on May 25th.

What did you guys think of Jessie helping Rachel's mom? I could not figure out what he was doing when put that cassette tape in Rachel's baby box of stuff and then when he got in the car with Idina I was so glad to find out he was helping her because of the mom thing and not to sabotage the Glee group to win the competitions.

I just checked Amazon and those songs are on the Showstoppers CD that was released on May 18th...Am I misreading something?

Glee is one of my very favorite shows!!! I need to get all of the CD's. I have the first one, but now need the rest! :thumbsup2

I knew he was bad news from the get-go... the big question is: will Finn be there to pick up the pieces??? :confused3

Do you still think he's bad news? I orginally thought that too, I thought he was going to steal their routines or sabotage them somehow for competition or something, but I'm not so sure now. He said last night he didn't want Rachel to get hurt and I don't think it's really a bad thing that he's helping her to get around the contract she signed so she can meet her daughter. :confused3 His character seems to have changed some since he first came on the show, like he was supposed to be bad news, but then they decided to go in another direction.

The premise is already there. This is an age-old Hollywood storyline and I don't think I've ever seen it end well(She's All That, 10 Things I Hate About You - ok, that one turned out ok, but she was still mad when she found out he was offered to be paid to date her...) regardless of the fact that the original "bad guy" forms feelings for the other person... when the truth comes out, it's never nice. I think Rachel'll find out the truth, be crushed, freak-out before regionals, Finn will pick up the pieces and beat the crap outta Jesse.

I understand his intentions are good for wanting to help her, but pushing her over and over, especially since she said she wasn't ready and he played the tape anyway... bad news!

DS gave me a iTunes gift card for Mother's Day. I think I know what to buy now. Great idea Ms. Brandie (enabler :goodvibes )

I got to thinking about a previous poster saying that she is not her mom. I wonder if it's all a ploy to get Rachel to Vocal Adreneline.

I don't know if they have enhanced Idina's looks at all with special make-up, etc...but she honestly does look like Rachael's mom (especially the side profiles in the car). Unfortunately, I'm in the camp of people that feels this will turn out badly for Rachael in the end. :(

That's what I was wondering, too.

FWIW, Target has the Glee Showstoppers Cd on sale this week for $12.99, if you don't do iTunes. =)

Wow. That would go even beyond Sue Slyvester mean.

I just started watching Glee this season...have they ever shown Rachel's dads?

I had to re-watch it a couple times, but it was cool the way all the members of the Glee Club are in the Safety Dance (well except for Finn and Tina). What a fun song that will be stuck in my head for days.

Wow. best episode of the season imo. Add in NPH and it makes the show even better than it already was. The dude who play's will (I always forget his name) and NPH's duet of "Dream On" was EPIC. Also, possible one of the best scenes of the year was when NPH was in Sue's office and we actually saw a sexual side of sue for the first time. I thought one of the best/funniest lines of the season was when NPH said "Should I lock the door?" and Sue responded: "No, I've got a secret room upstairs like Letterman". As soon as I heard that I busted out laughing. I also think that Rachel looks amazingly like the lady who was revealed to be her mother. Perfect fit imo. All in all, great episode. Like I said, I think it was the best of the season. Just goes to show you that NPH makes everything better
yep.gif

I thought is was awesome! Of course, I have yet to see an episode of Glee that is not awesome, so I may not be the best judge...

Was it just me? The entire time they were singing "Dream a Little Dream of Me" ALL I could think about was Miss Piggy singing that in the Muppets 3D show in the Studios...

Jesse did say he really likes Rachel now... We'll see...

Is it Tuesday YET??!
