My son (12) and I are considering going to DC next July. He is a great swimmer (swim competitively) and I am a non-swimmer. I have read other threads that have convinced me that I will be OK as a non-swimmer (the water is never over your head). I was also glad to read that wet suits etc come in larger sizes. My only concern remaining is that both my son and I are "blind" without our glasses. Does anyone else have that problem? It won't be any fun if the whole day everything is blurry. Can you wear your glasses under your mask. (BTW, contacts aren't an option for us). My son does have optical goggles that he wears when racing - can he wear those? Any help is appreciated. :cool1:

When we were there 2 years ago, they offered goggles with prescriptive lenses in them. I think they looked at DD and DH's glasses and then had them try on several pairs to get the best view. We had to leave a credit card for a deposit in case something happened to them, but there was no extra cost to get them. I would try to arrive early to be sure and get them.
