Glass on a plane?

Hi All,
I am packing to fly domestically to visit a friend having a birthday. I have bought her a decorated birthday drinking glass and was going to put it in my carry-on so it is less likely to break but then I started thinking am I allowed to take glass on to the plane with me??? Also it'll be wrapped in birthday wrapping, is that okay or will security have an issue?

I've taken glass perfume bottles and glass Christmas ornaments with me as carry on so I don't think you'll have any problems! Could you put it in a gift bag instead of wrapping it? Just in case security does want to have a closer look at it.

Glass? Shouldn't be a problem. Just keep it nicely wrapped and easy to access if security want a second look.
