Glad we stuck with the quick service dining plan!

I am soooo excited to try the QSDP this trip. We have always had the DDP in our last 5 trips. And like Dizneydaz we will miss some of our fav's but bringing 3 of our DGK's (all 11 yrs old) along this year we felt (after much deliberation) that the QSDP would be much easier to manage and give us the flexibility that we will need. It is soooo good to see this thread and get sooo many GREAT idea's for QSDP. It has really helped as I plan our trip.

I wonder how everyone feels about the new QSDP for 2012??? We won't have to worry about having to many SC in 2012 since they are changing the QSDP to include just 1 SC I am trying to keep an open mind about this

Pro's:
No increase in the QSDP price for 2012
I won't eat to many snacks (bad for the disney diet)

Con's:
Will have to eliminate some of my favorite snacks OR bring along some extra cash to make sure I don't miss on any of my favorites

We got the free QSDP and I went back and forth about whether or not to upgrade to the DDP, but in the end decided to stick with the free QSDP. We don't want to be stuck with set meal times either. I have reservations for 3 TS meals OOP but they are at places that don't take the dining plan anyway. T-Rex, Planet HW & Rainforest Cafe. Those 3 meals will cost me around $250 OOP. To upgrade the QSDP to the DDP for 5 ppl for 10 days was going to cost me around $500. So it worked out better for us to just stick with the FD QSDP. And if it comes down to it and we are in a park and don't want to leave for the ADR we can cancel it and just have a QS meal where we are at at the time. I am glad to have the 2 snacks per person because we are going during Food & Wine at Epcot and might want to try a few snacks.
