Trians have been stopped to taking anyone else into the city. The Phillie's are having their victory parade today. I have been watching it on tv and the place is mobbed! :scared1:

Nobody's complaining today!

I'm in ALLENTOWN and our work parking lot is practically vacant. So....you know where everyone is.

I work at the Comcast Center - we had a great (but hiiiiigh up) view of the parade! But oh boy I'm glad that I'm not taking the train home at the end of the day today. What a mess.

Congratulations to the Phillies. We're very proud of our Rays, it was a good series. My family is from the Philly area so it was bitter sweet for us.

DH and DS went. They said it took over an hour just to get a Speedline ticket from Westmont to Philly.

He got great shots of the parade though.

I was going to go but afraid of the crowds - if my kids were a little older I would have went. I did watch it on TV - anyone hear Utley? Oh my!!

Those crowds would have been much larger, but the public transportation system was just overwhelmed! Both of my DS were at the train station in Penndelat 7AM, waited over an hour while full train after full train passed them by. Finally an announcement was made that there would be no trains stopping at the station!:scared1: Can you imagine if you were waiting to go to work and not the parade??

DD lives in NJ and was able to get there early on PATCO. She called around 5:30 and said it was at least a 2 hour wait for a train back. :scared1: They figured since it was Friday night, they would just hang out in the city for a few hours and come home later.

What a crazy day! Part of me wishes I were there.....the sane part says I was smarter to stay home!

And OMY! about Utley is right!!!! What was he thinking??? Jimmy Rollins was funny following that little slip-up. :rolleyes1

I just got home about an hour ago from the craziness in Philly. It was awesome!

Septa was good about having lots of extra busses and subway trains in the city, but they didn't do anything about their regional lines. I was in Wilmington, DE and my train was 30 minutes late but as soon as we got on it became express and didn't stop at the last 6 or so stops before reaching Philly. I saw the people at the PA stops and they were confused that we weren't stopping.

I had tickets for the celebration at Citizens Bank Park and the regional line to get home was AWFUL, but only for those that lived in DE...everybody else was on time and we were 97 minutes behind :scared1: The only perks for the regional line was that it was free today.

The energy at the Parade and at Citizens was just amazing and it was great to celebrate it with the players. I also loved my close-up of Cole Hamels

They estimated that over 2 million people were at the parade today. That's just insane.

And then I got home and found out that I am an aunt again! Megan Julia was born at 5:29 this afternoon.   I can't wait to meet her!

I took the train down to the parade on the R 3 line and had no problems getting into the city. Getting home was another story...We waited over two hours at 30th st Station for the R3 to Elwyn. Two trains came by and did not pick up additional passengers. There were numerous trains to Trenton, Marcus Hook, Norristown etc. who were accepting passengers, but not so for the R3. Finally, an R3 stopped and my friends and I got on. It was standing room only. It only took me a half hour to get into the city, but three hours to get home. I guess it was still better than driving though. My brother lives fifteen minutes from his workplace, but it took him over an hour to get home.
I actually had two tix for the rally at the Linc, but gave them away, because there was no way that I was driving into that chaos!

Anyway, I had a great view for the parade and was glad to have gone, in spite of the transportation problems on the way home.

My friends drove and had no problems getting home (they were just at the parade not CBP)- they said the roads were empty. My neighbors took the train and could not get home. They called some kind of bus/limo service and had to pay $25 per peson to get back to the train station where they left their car.

:yay: I wish I was there. I was really disappointed that is was on Halloween. But I have kids that LOVE halloween so I did what they wanted to do.
Saying that I was a little sad that I wasn't even going tobe able to see it on the news. But when I got home a 330 it was still on so I didn't miss anything yesterday.I got to see the parade and doing all the special things w/my girls.

My DS got stuck in the traffic and didn't get home until 8 PM. He delivers hospital supplies in the Philadelphia area and couldn't get through I-95. My brother came down from NY and made it back to NY by 5PM. I couldn't go downtown because I had the grandkids and wasn't taking them into that madness. I did go to the parade in 1980 and I don't think it was near as crowded.

I was at the Suburban station and between 6:30 and 8:30pm, I think we saw 3 R3 trains and 5 R7's to Trenton as well as 2 R1's to the airport. Did you have to pay to take the R3 yesterday?
