Glad I made it through the Southwest glitches yesterday!

Well, after all the headache :headache: of not having my flights show up for hours and hours yesterday, and missing the better rates from another airport, I finally got everything booked. Decided to drive to Kansas City to get in on the $49 rates. We're leaving later than I wanted to Saturday night (All the more desireable flights were 'unavailable') But, I talked to the owner of the townhouse we are staying at and arranged to stay an extra night. Worth another hundred dollars when you save a thousand on flights. I even found that my car rental was cheaper for 8 days vs. 7.

Glad I booked when I did too. I was going to be gone all evening, and all the MCI-MCO flights still weren't up. I went ahead and booked and when I got back I see that everything is posted...but they've all been scooped up.

All in all, slightly stressful, but I saved a boatload...thanks to all the tips and info I got here at the DIS. Thanks so much!!! :disrocks:

It is stressful, isn't it? I was helping to keep an eye on SW for two friends who will be going with us in April, and when I checked at around 12:00, the flights were going fast, and my friends didn't know April opened up. My friends were happy, but I know that if they had gotten in earlier, they would have gotten the cheaper prices.
I booked with Delta months ago when their rates came out and got good flights and prices, but now there's some stress associated with Delta. So there's no getting away from the stress!
Glad you got it done, have a good trip!

Congratulations! I missed out on getting flights for our trip March 18-23. I noticed that not all the flights from MCI-MCo were listed when I first noticed it had opened up for those dates about 2 p.m. yesterday. I could have booked the last flight to MCO on Sunday night and return the earliest flight on Friday morning for $117 RT but I would rather pay more than have my vacation cut short by almost 2 days. I am lucky in that I can fly out of either KC or STL so I will just play the waiting game. If I can find something around $200 for spring break time, I will be happy!

Have fun on your vacation!

Yeah, for our dates the afternoon flights at the internet rate were sold out by 10:10a. I looked at Friday night and it was gone already too. So, we debated a bit and decided to take the Saturday night flight and the Sunday morning flight. (I'm with you, I didn't want to cut our vacation short either) But, since we were able to book an extra night of lodging I think we'll actually get more time at Disney. I hadn't figured we be able to go the day we flew in--thought we'd just get settled. Wouldn't be able to go on the day we left either, so by adding that additional night we get that whole Saturday at WDW. Who wouldn't want an extra day at Disney??! :yay:

Hope you find a great deal on your vacation. I added KC to my Ding list, though I think it's probably doubtful that I'll find anything below $49...you think?

Thanks! Me too! DD has a Rapids Reward Award so I'll only have two tickets to pay for which will help.

I don't remember ever seeing anything lower than $49 one way from KC or STL.

P.S. One of my best friends lives in Springdale and works at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. It's really a pretty city!

Neat! We just moved here in February--I'm a Nebraska girl. We like it so far. I'm sure we'll really like it this winter when my friends are back home freezing in the snow. LOL
