GKTW February Challenge- Team: WALT'S WIZARDS!!!!

OK- so I tried to unite South Jersey- and it didn't work. I'm so sad...

BUT...I still love Nikki's idea for a challenge in February to see which team can raise the most money for Give Kids the World.
And I was fortunate enough to be at the ABD dinner in Hackensack on Tuesday evening and started a new team.
Each team needs 5 people. We need to raise at least $100 as a team.

So far Team Walt's Wizards has 4 members:

We even raised some of our total right there in Maggiano's last night!! Woo Hoo!

Please be our 5th team member and let's get some money together for the GTKW kids!

You can ask friends, family, coworkers, neighbors and more for small donations- maybe a dollar or 2.
You can ask for donations instead of candy for Valentine's Day. Give up your favorite soda or a trip to Wawa/Starbucks a couple of times during February and give that money to the kids. Be creative.

I see that the MA people are having a meet at the end of the month for their team. I am certainly open to that idea- On February 25th let's plan something fun to do together- maybe something at the Cherry Hill Mall or someplace else. I'm open to ideas and locations!

Unfortunately Linda, I am not available the weekend of Feb 25. I be working. Im still on the team though and my gears are turning thinking of money raising ideas! Can ya smell the wood burning??

No worries Kim! That date is not set in stone. We can decide as a team what, where, when and even IF we want to do something "in person." Since we are all so far apart- maybe we can think of something we can each do in our own areas.

New update!!

IN ADDITION TO the Tupperware sale and the Tiki Room print (see above post), Team Walt's Wizards is reaching out to Subway restaurants to help raise money for GKTW.

On 3 Wednesdays in February (15, 22, 29) I will be at the Medford, NJ Subway on Stokes Rd from 5pm-8pm. I will greet patrons at the door and introduce them to Give Kids the World- just a few words and a short and simple printed slip of paper.
If they mention GKTW when they pay for their food- we get 10% of the sales for the evening!

I have done this type of fundraiser at Subway back when my kids were in high school marching band. It's not a windfall- but every little bit helps!
The manager at our Subway said each manager can decide for themselves, but on the whole, most Subway restaurants are open to community fundraising.

I challenge everyone to go to YOUR local Subway and ask about this option.

I will have the 3 dates in February- to help Walt's Wizards in the February Challenge- but I plan to do this on a continuing basis- once or twice a month. If everyone did that (or something similar) we'd really raise the donations quickly!!
Think about it- There are Subway restaurants all over the place.

And if you are in South Jersey- stop on by!!
