We picked a name off the tree at church.

We thought the child was asking for something generic but realized it was brand specific after buying something generic.

No big deal, we will just locate brand specific item only to find it is out of stock everywhere. To me it isn't a big deal, but I am looking for reassurance that it isn't.

(child asked for "Pretty Pedicure set"...and it is very different from the "pretty" pedicure set we found. The child is 8 yo)

Thanks :)

At www.amazon.com they have the "Pretty Pedicure Salon" kit in stock for $24.99. Now you can get a different brand and I think it would be fine, but just throwing that out there :)

If it is the one previously linked to on amazon they sell it at Michaels and AC moore craft stores. dd8 got it for her bday over the summer. It is total junk and the polish isnt even real polish, it peels off, but if that is hwat the kids wants then so be it.

Thanks, I had checked online but totally forgot about amazon. Ordered one and won't return what I originally bought until it comes in. I just feel bad for
Not realizing that it was something specific.

That's really nice of you to go to the extra effort..:goodvibes Some little girl is going to be very happy this Christmas..:santa:

And so very nice that you are getting her exactly what she asked for. So many times people pick those tags and get the child a generic version or something close saying they should be happy to get anything and this is actually better quality BUT dog gone it I always want to ask "weren't you ever a kid with their heart set on a certain toy" Brand name and all? it may not be the best but maybe she saw it at another childs party and thought it looked so wonderful. And yes another brand may be better but it isn't THE toy they asked for.

My SIL is 55 yrs old and she still remembers getting a generic barbie doll when she asked for a Barbie! It is the little things that stick in our memories.

Could you give her both sets? Or can you only give 1 gift? Look at the reviews on Amazon, and if they aren't good, I'd consider giving her both sets. I agree with the other posters, def. give her the one she asked for. There have been MANY times my kids have spent their allowance on junk, and I cringed, but it's what they wanted and it was their money.

We've adopted a boy for xmas. He has a $50 Wii game on his list... he's 10 and it's rated M. The other things on his list? hoodie and socks. His parents filled out the form, so they are aware of the game on his list, and we bought it. We're also getting stocking stuffers and other small toys.
