Giving to DISer's kids....

You know, it's one thing when someone gives you a gift, but it's something altogether different when someone gives your child a gift. And this applies in the virtual world as well as in the real world!

I just want to say that I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the DISers who have given gifts of rare items to our DS14 who just joined VMK this past weekend! (He's using one of the characters I created while at WDW last fall, so at least he has the "Born in Park" badge! lol). Also, another DISer made a very fair trade with CapeCAD over the weekend so that we could help DS complete his Herbie suit

I know that other DISers have had gifts given to their kids before, and now we have too, and I just wanted to send out a general "THANK YOU SO MUCH" to every DISer who has ever done this!!!

aw: I want to jump in and second that sentiment! Many gave gifts to the kids network when we first started it up and they continue to do so as the need arises. I've had gifts given to my kids as well and it just makes me so glad to be part of this board and in such great company! I'm happy to hear your DS is off to a good start.

Did he get a pair of black ears with that character or did you gift them away. If he needs black and gold ears I would be glad to gift them to him.

You know, half the time when I meet dis kids, I had thought they were adults! They are so kind and courteous. Thanks to all who are teaching their kids values and fair play and fun!!

And since I am often confused on who is an adult and who is a kid, would it be ok to ask if parents list their name and then the name of their children who play VMK? I know some of them, but I don't always know who belongs to whom. Mal, I didn't even know your son played VMK.

If you think this info is inappropriate, then just ignore the request.



(ps. I was just sure twinkieb was an adult! I couldn't believe it when I found out she was a kid. I always enjoy seeing her around in VMK.)

My DS name in VMK is Mickeetoo...posting his first name is something I do not do in an open forum.


He does not play alot but when he does he loves to have all the cool new things! And would not have most of them with out the kindness of fellow DISers.

I think every poor person around here is forced to like ramen noodles after our food drive... LOL.

Anyway, to keep on topic...we have found the dis to be a very trusting board (difficult to find knowing how the internet works.) I still can't get over the amount of generous people here on the dis. My sister had asked someone to bring the code page (the one you print out after you win something, then it leaves that annoying message there) to vmk central and get her the code. A Dis'er who was down there actually got her the code. I know she thanked that person, and even though I do not know who it was, I would like to say thank you as well to everyone who makes the Dis a happy place.

For those who have given things to my two boys KingZ and KingM and all the DISKids - Thank You.

I also want to thank the Dis'ers who played with my son KingZ in the Haunted Mansion game last night. He said he found a bunch of Dis People and asked them to play. He had a fun time.

KingZ and I played Haunted Mansion last night and then I crashed. We had a great time. When I crash, it is a sign that I need to take a break from the game - lol. Sometimes that happens alot. Such a nice boy you have.

It's funny that I'm still just starting to recognize some of the dis people in VMK.

That's why threads like this are helpful. I can go back and say "oh, thats _________ from the dis!"
