Giving Thanks at the Fort

It seems that all of the nice Thanksgiving TR's were too much for me to handle. I just booked 7 nights for Thanksgiving week. After checking my work schedule I was pleased to see that I only needed to use 2 days vacation to pull it off. My wife put in for her vacation too, and it was approved. We have always wanted to visit during Thanksgiving. We have never seen the Christmas or Thanksgiving decorations. It all looks so nice from the pics posted on here. I know that the parks will be very crowded, but we will be on Fort time anyway.

I guess that I will bring the turkey fryer along. I don't know if the oven in the toyhauler will handle a bird or not. What do you T-day experts usually do for dinner?

Can't speak to cooking Thanksgiving dinner at the Fort, as I don't even cook at home so we went out... But, we had a GREAT time at the Fort for Thanksgiving in '08. The Christmas decorations are out in the parks, but the better ones are found looping around FW. Have a great time!

We will hopefully be at the Fort again for Thanksgiving this year. Have done it a couple times, and it's my favorite time to be there. I love walking around the loops during the day smelling all the wonderful food cooking. You see a lot of electric roasters going under the awnings.

The last time we cooked Thanksgiving at the Fort I used my Big Easy oil-less fryer. It made a great turkey! We cooked all the sides too...but some of them were prepared the week before at home and frozen. Less mess and less time cooking that day. Pies also were done the week ahead and frozen. But either way, we do the whole spread just like we were home. Can't have it any other way!
