Giving on line check in a try!

I've been very hesitant to give on line check in a try, but I am this trip. Will see if I like it. 2 more sleeps till we drive under that Welcome Arch

We've always had good luck using it in the past, until last month. We were staying CL and literally had the longest check in we've ever had.
I'm not sure if we should have just asked to be checked in at the CL desk or not. On our next trip, we will not do check in for our CL stay and see if there is a difference.

I have never really understood the hesitation to do online checkin. IMHO....it makes things move quicker; your packet is ready when you get there, so no standing around waiting.

We have always gotten our requests (made within the 10 day checkin window with a CM over the phone).

I am all about doing anything to make my trip easier!

You don't need on-line check-in with CL, in my experience. You should be met in the lobby and taken to the CL lounge to check in.

Sue M I think you'll be happy you did the on-line. It's no biggie - just saves you time. And I've never had to wait for my room, since they know from the on-line check-in questions what time I plan to arrive and have assigned me a room that is ready. (Some people don't like this b/c of special requests, etc. but again, I've always been happy. Actually, one time I got a room at AKL that was a dud view-wise but awesome location so we kept it )

We've done it both ways, and honestly I didn't notice any difference. It took about the same amount of time to check in at the hotel, the CM went over all the same stuff with us before giving us our keys, etc. Maybe our experience was unusual, but I fail to see what the point is. But of course, I'll do it again next time anyway, just because I can, lol!

There's no reason to hesitate unless you just don't want to. It's always sped things up for us compared to the days before they had it. Of course, "stuff happens" but by and large, it's a efficiency thing.

Since its been available, I've always done the online check-in. It's always seemed easier an faster to me. We typically arrive around 11 am so it's fairly crowded in the standard line.
This year though, we'll be getting in around midnight and I'm wondering of there's any difference.

I've used it since it became available and found it sped things up a bit. It does depend though on the time of day you arrive. If you arrive around 11 AM you will probably find a big difference versus standard check-in, where there will probably be long lines.

Lately I arrive around 6:00 or 6:30PM and find the Lobby virtually empty, so the diffence then would not be much.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, I was just wondering if anyone felt that online check-in would increase your chances of your room being ready if you arrived early a.m. - we should be at the resort before 10am. I would be beyond thrilled if we could get directly into our room upon arrival!

We've not done specific request in years.....sometimes we just put a general one like 'close to food court' but is it best to call within 10 days of checking in to have these met? I might try that.

Sounds like me.....I don't really know that it speeds things up, last year we got in the online check in line just as a Magic Express bus arrived with 10+ people that had also done online check in LOL so it definitely was slower. Still I do it because I can.....just makes the vacation seem closer I guess LOL

From what I've read, maybe but not necessarily. We've checked in earlier than check in time most years....we drive in so it just varies based on how many stops we make. Most the time our rooms are ready....but we get there after lunch so I'm assuming most of the people checking out have already checked out and the mousekeepers got right on cleaning the rooms so they could put them back in to the inventory. Not sure about checking in that early in the morning. Online check in can't hurt though
