Give me your best tips for finding a great WOC spot!!

We will be getting a FP for WOC on june 21st. We will have a four year old and an eightyear old, so we need to find a good spot where they can both see. We saw WOC in 2010 and did the picnic meals. We had a good spot right by a railing. Our two year old fell aslep after all the waiting, so this will be her first time seeing it. What are your tips to finding a great location?

There's no great tips to get rail spots other than get there really really early. I like watching from the back of the blue section by the "green fire hydrant" because people run right past it, but it has a fantastic view and I almost always get a rail spot. It's a rail spot but it is at the VERY back of the viewing area, which may not be the best option for your family.

The bridge in the blue section may also be a good option. It has a different angle than the regular viewing area but pretty much all spots are up against the fence.

My advice is read the info on these boards and do not ask the CMs as they are so uninformed. We tried to show up early last week for the first show and the CM told us they don't start letting people in until 8:00 at the earliest. We came back at 7:50 and all the rail spots were gone as they had let people in much earlier.

I believe they repainted the fire hydrant green. It blends in to the shrubbery much better now, which can make it harder to spot. In the picture, you would stand in the center for a pretty nice view! It is very close to the blue handicapped section.

Yeah, as ArchOwl said, it's been repainted since that pic was taken. And either rail is fine, but I like the center. You really get a great scope of the whole show.

The last couple times I've been at the top of the stairs in the center. I believe I was in blue and I think yellow (or orange I think the CM was saying) has it too. For the blue if you turn before you get to the center circle and follow that all the way down most people don't realize its still apart of that section and cause your on the stairs little ones can see. Also there is a walkway right there so if your on the ropes you get no one in front of you and can see the whole show. Plus there is a CM there and usually they are really unbusy cause no one comes down that way and I've had some fun conversations with them.

For clarification, do you stand in front of this fire hydrant section (like where the guy in the photo is standing) or do you stand at the back of the section (so the hydrant is in front of you)?

Behind the hydrant. Line yourself up as much as possible with the Mickey face on the ferris wheel. That is the sight line for the show.

The hydrant spot is good because no one can get in front of you due to the railing. It also has a great sight line. Another benefit is that most people don't realize you can stand there, so it is often available until right before the show. However, it is far back. It is a very expansive view of the show and I like it. But it is different from experiencing the show from further into the viewing area, which is much more immersive. It is all personal preference.

Thanks you guys! It's definitely an option after a recent very disappointing viewing experience down at a railing that the CMs said was good viewing spot, but turned out to have a railing "bump out" that people were standing in and having 3 kids go up on shoulders. We had a very bad view of the main pictures on the main screen. It was frustrating to wait for 1.5 hrs and not be able to see. I really hope They do something to fix this atrocious viewing design!

We got FP for WOC early in the day (it was a weekday), we got yellow. A little over an hour before the show, I asked a CM by the Golden Zepher where to line up for yellow. She said, "right here". I asked her if there was a system they had down, she said no, it's always changing. What started out as one single line was then eventually turned into two or three lines, very confusing. We somehow ended up right in front for WOC. I don't know if it was a fluke or what. We did have to line up early and wait for an hour at the spot, but what a view!

It really depends on if you want it for sure or are willing to risk not getting it. I would say 45-60 minutes before the show if you want high probability. 30 minutes if you want medium probability.

i was in the line an hour an half early and still didnt get best view. Next time I'm thinking we will try to get further back (maybe the yellow green fire hydrant. We saw some and my son says he saw most all. I will try in oct to see it from center and in line with mickey face
