Well, I am not of the original MMC generation, but I am still a big fan of the original show. My first stay on WDW property was in 1985, and of course we got the Disney Channel in our room (back then, the Disney channel was very new, and not part of most cable tv packages like today if I recall correctly). I was hooked on that channel and begged my parents to sign up for the Disney channel when we got home.
Needless to say, they gave in and I fell in love with the original Mickey Mouse Club - esp. watching the mini series like "Annette" and "The Hardy Boys".
Then the late 80's rolled around and I got hooked on the new MMC. My very favorite MMC memory was the episode when they had original MMC Cast Members like Annette,Bobby, Cubby etc. on the new show with the new Cast (this was all before Britney, Christina, etc were on the show). What a great show this was -- with fun comedy sketches and songs ---- for anyone who was a fan of both shows, this was the ultimate treat. I would love for the Disney Channel to re-broadcast some of this great stuff!
Does anyone remember the music group "The Party" that grew out of the new MMC? That was my favorite music group in junior high/high school...they didn't seem to get that big in mainstream pop but I was a big fan! Needless to say, I had a big crush on DeeDee Magno
