My husband and I are cruising this December and I am aware that you are able to bring drinks (non alcholic and alcholic) on board with you.
What all have you brought with you and how did you carry it on board?
Also, if you are flying in (we are coming from sunny Nebraska) did you bring anything with you from home on the plane or just buy stuff when you got to FL?
Thanks for the help.... this part is all new to me. We've cruised quite a bit, but have never brought drinks with us before.

We drove down from SC and brought our beverages with us.

We carried on board rum, beer, and soda. The rum was in DH carry on and the beer and soda was in a rolling collaspible cooler. The cooler and carry on backpack were both run through the xray machine. No problems.

On this last trip we didn't bring anything with us since it was only a 3day. I ordered baskets from The Perfect Gift and asked them to include a 6 pack of hard lemonade, bottled water, and juice boxes for DD. It worked out great and was just enough for 3 days.

Hi Emily,
I'll be right behind you hauling my beverages with me! Since our Canadian $$ is sooo bad, I'm bringing some wine with me. I actually found a very drinkable boxed white wine. It's a long and narrow box so it will pack well in one of our suitcases. I'm also going to bring along some Cranberry Vodka (you know...being the holiday season !) which I'll put in a plastic bottle and wrap well with bubble wrap. Hopefully it will make it on the flight safe and sound or we'll be making a quick stop on our way!! We'll also be getting a Soda Mug between DD and myself.

We stopped on the way to the port and picked up a 12 pack of soda, which we just carried on with us and 2 12 packs of beer which we put in a rolling cooler and checked it with the bags at the port. No problems as long as you have no ice in cooler or glass.

Thanks for all the info everyone!

So SuAnne, you are just going to put the Vodka in one of your suitcases or your carry on? That is what DH wanted to do, but I just worried that they would explode in the checked bags, or get confiscated in the carry on bag. So as long as they are in plastic bottles I should be fine.
I would love to do all this when we get there, but we are getting in the night before, staying at the Hyatt, and using DCL transportation so I don't have an opportunity to stop anywhere...

I should shut up and stop worrying huh?

The cranberry vodka sounds good.... We were thinking coconut rum would be good, too. You are just down the hall from us onboard, we'll have to have a party with all our drinks!!

I'm just going to put the vodka in my checked bag. I have a collapsable rolling cooler that can double as a suitcase for the way home. I'll just wrap the plastic bottle in the bubble wrap and put it inside a big ziplock bag in case of an accident. It should be okay...I actually flew one time with some cans hard lemonaids in my checked luggage and they made it just fine.

I figured with the cranberry vodka, I could mix it with the lemonaid from the drink station.

All this has got me in the packing mood!!!

Hi all! we will be doing the land/sea 4 days a BC and the nights on Wonder 1/5-1/12/03. I was planning on packing in my suitcase 4 lg bottles of Arbor Mist wine and 1 bottle peach schnapps. I think if they are wrapped in bubble wrap and in plastic bags they should be fine. I wouldn't be able to carry that much in a carry on! I read somewhere u can order a pitcher of lemonade for your room on the ship for no charge- do u think o.j. would also be free? this would save $$ on buying drinks on board. if I want to buy more Arbor Mist before we leave WDW is there somewhere we can go nearby- (we won't have a car) poss. walk from DTD to a store? Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi all!
Just returned from 4-day Wonder!! What a trip!

Well we planned ahead and brought w/us 2 bottles of champagne-carry on the flight from NY-JFK to MCO, and then transfers on Disney bus. Also in suitcase-check-in baggage, I packed 6 pk cans of pineapple juice and 2 3-pk juice boxes of cranberry juice to mix w/ the bottle of Malibu Rum!! Yummy. My friend also brought 4 mini bottles of mudslides and a bottle of vanilla vodka. All liquor was in our checked baggage, except for champagne.
I packed mine between clothing and socks.

I forgot-I also brought a bottle of wine -Yellow Tail Shiraz, which we brought to dinner on our last night.

Needless to say, my luggage was much lighter coming home!!

I picked up some very useful cups for mixing drinks. they are made by Ziploc(I think) and have tops w/ a place for a straw as well as a flip top for pouring. They are great and very inexpensive-in the plastic bag aisle in my Shop Rite.

MINI- BOTTLES of Mudslides??!!?!! I gotta search around town for that for our trip!!! :teeth:

OK, now if I bring my wine and beer on board with me, are there cup or glasses in the room, should we bring some? I can just see us chugging the wine out of the bottle. And I'm sure my DH just can't go walking around with his beer can in his hand, Can he?
Thanks

He can, but he'd probably like to bring a "koozie" along both to be somewhat discreet and because it will help him keep his beer cool longer.

The Mudslides come in a 4-pack. Also available were Toasted Almonds, Kahlua and Milk and somehting else, I don't recall. Very Yummy!

Also, re: glasses in room: our room had 4 cocktails isze glasses, that I would not want to carry around ship. Get a plastic large cup, that is disposable so you do not have to carry it when done. I also saw alot of people w/ the Mugs sold on board from the ESPN zone. DH could buy one and keep refilling from his "private stock". I also brought disposable wine and champagne glasses w/me.

nezy....WELCOME BACK!!!! Hope you are your girfriends has a great girls' trip!!!!!

Post a trip report!!!

I know this has been a hotly debated here topic here on ocassion, (from a moral standpoint) but is it really OK to do this? Just reading through the cruise docs and on the fourth page it says "personal coolers may not be brought on board except for those needed for medications, baby food, or items related to dietary constraint". Just checking to make sure this is not a recent change? Thanks for your help!

We brought a 12 pk of Heinkin, which the fridge really didnt keep cold and a 6 pk of plastic hard lemonade in a soft cooler which we checked in. Also a bottle of wine and a bottle of coconut rum to mix with the lemonade. We wrapped the bottles in a beach towel and rubberbanded them. Worked great. Also bought the wine pkg with dinner. Abottle of wine with each meal[4 night cruise] was $89. 109 with tip auto tip that is. Probably would not do that again. Stick to the special of the day drink, its $3.50 each with out a souvineer glass. Also we did walk around with the room glasses, and took them to dinner or whereever. Then left them when empty. Even told our room attendant what was happening to the glasses and he replaced them and said no problem. :smooth:

I never thought of coconut rum and lemonade. How was it?

Im buying the rum before getting onboard ship next week but was going to get small cans of pineapple juice to go with it.

Not clear on where you checked the beer (port or airport)? I've pretty much been told on here not to put beer in checked luggage at the airport, and was planning on putting a 12/pk in a roll on carry on. Does anyone think this will be a problem with the airline? Most people seem to be bringing non-carbonated items. Just wonder if there is a problem with carrying on even if the cabin is pressurized.
