Give me the 411 on the mushroom filet

OK, I was a real fan of the maple bbq filet at Le Cellier. I see it has been removed from the menu. What is the mushroom filet like? Is it covered in a mushroom flavored sauce? Can you order it plain, no sauce or sauce on the side? We have an ADR for dinner in May, trying to decide what to order. Should we go with the NY strip instead?

The mushroom filet with the risotto is mine and DS12's favorite meal on property. We also liked the maple filet and usually got one of each and split but we are ok with each of us having our own mushroom filet.

I am not sure about ordering it plain, but I don't see why they wouldn't. I don't think that it is covered in sauce, just enough for flavor but I do like mushrooms. IMHO, the risotto is the best part of the dish. I have tried to recreate it at home and I just can't seem to get it just right.

I agree, the risotto was the best. I'm sure you can order it plain as I know my son ordered the maple bbq filet without the maple bbq.

I am also a lover of the risotto..it was better than the steak IMHO. The steak was good, don't get me wrong, but the risotto was heavenly!

I don't recall the steak being overly sauced...and I am sure you could probably get it plain if you wanted it that way.

I ordered mine a few weeks ago without any mushroom anything and cream cheese mashed potatos. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY my favorite meal of the week
