Ohana - Breakfast
Ohana - Dinner
Whispering Canyon - Dinner
Chef Mickey - Breakfast

Is there any restaurant you would take off this list? What about adding to? We need restaurants outside of the parks, because our park tickets will have expired. I would love any additional ideas for good eats. We will have the dining plan, 2 adults, and 3 kids ages 14, 11, and 7.

Thanks in advance. You are always such good help.

Are you on the deluxe dining plan or the regular DDP? I ask this because when we are on the regular DDP with only one TS credit per night, we just hate to use them for breakfasts. I know it's a personal thing, we just feel like we get so much more "value" for our money with a dinner, especially at a restaurant that offers both, like Chef Mickey's. We've eaten dinner there a number of times, have always had a nice experience and could always find something good to eat. At Chef Mickey's, whether you do breakfast or dinner, make sure you request a table in the main dining room. We have had a MUCH BETTER time with the characters when seated in the main room, plus the monorail glides overhead. 'Ohana is a little bit of a different situation because it has Lilo & Stitch for breakfast, no characters at dinner but very unique food offerings a different kind of entertainment. We REALLY enjoy 'Ohana for dinner and highly recommend it. Never done breakfast there. If you do eat at 'Ohana, request a table by the window, it's worth waiting a little longer for the wonderful view.

We had dinner at WCC and did not care for it AT ALL, we would not recommend it to anyone, ever. We are fun-loving people looking for a good meal and a good time and got neither. Now maybe we hit it on an "off" night, but it was not very much fun and the food bordered on terrible!

I've only done dinner at Ohana and dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Ohana dinner is my most favorite meal in all of WDW and I seriously changed my whole schedule around so that I could snatch the only ADR time that was available during my entire stay!!! That's how much I love it. I've eaten there on every trip to WDW since we first tried it.

WCC...I tried it against the warnings of the people on this board. I have tried a lot of restaurants that look good to me despite the reviews I see on here. Some have worked out and some didn't, but WCC was just as bad as they say it is. Some people have better luck so you might still want to try it for yourself, but I just wanted to warn you!

what about Boma's at AKL? That is very good and must do every visit for us.

Personally I would only do Ohana for one or the other, preferably dinner.
Of course that is unless you are staying at Poly and would like to eat quick from the room.
I have eaten at WCC for dinner.........LOVED it. And Ohana for dinner, we enjoyed that as well.

We had Ohana's and WCC this past Spring Break and loved both. We have 2 boys ages 8 & 6 and they also enjoyed both places.

We would definitely go back to both next year.

Another favorite was Kona's at the Polynesian.

1st 3 are great. I can't stand Chef Mickey though.
At the Ohana breakfast, it's much more laid back and fun.
Whispering Canyon is great.

Ohana Dinner...make sure you arrive hungry!;)

I also agree with CM, I think it's over-rated and over priced-we went last month for dd's birthday. The server brought her out a cupcake with a candle, no characters came over for it, no happy birthday singing from anyone other than us, just a bit disappointed as they pretty much brought her a cupcake at every meal that day with a candle so CM's just didn't stand out (only as the most expensive meal of the day and that was breakfast so we won't be hurrying back there anytime soon).

If you're on the DDP or Free Dining and have never gone it's worth a visit to try it out. We also missed Pluto because we just didn't want to wait any longer. We were already there over an hour. I miss Chip and Dale there. Seems that Donald has replaced them at more than one breakfast (Cape May too). So now you get 1 character in place of 2, while Donald is a cool duck, Chip and Dale are just darn fun!! LOL!! We miss them at the breakfasts!

Love Ohana anytime, even did Thanksgiving there last year and going back this year because it was so good.

Chef Mickey is great for breakfast, did not care for it at dinner.

We have been to WCC twice. The first was for Thanksgiving dinner in 2005 and it was alot of fun and the food was terrific, but went back last year on a regular night with another family and was not impressed at all. Food was so-so but our server had no personality which goes completely against the theme there. May try again though in hopes that it was a fluke.

If you want a little different evening experience, try the Trails End at the Campground and stay around for the evening campfire sing-a-long and movie. The food at TE is very good and an evening under the stars watching a Disney movie is hard to beat.

Tusker House in AK is another great choice if you want character dining.:surfweb:

Personally I dislike both Ohana and WCC because I like good food and found both of them tgo serve mediocre to bad food. Lots of meat but nothing tasty. Also both were loud noisy places. OHana would be more fun with kids. But if you want a place out of the parks I would go to Boma or Sanaa or the Wave. Or Kouzzina's menu looks tasty. Jiko and Flying Fish and Cali Grill are my faves, but pricey. Personally for breakfast I prefer Cape May Cafe to Chef Mickey's - again less crazy and quieter but still have characters. The best breakfast I have found to date is at Boma's which has an omelot station - but not characters. I also loved Kona at the Poly for breakfast...
