Give goofy the finger in Chef Mickey!!!!!!!

WOW! I am amazed. I cannot imagine allowing my children to act like that in private, let alone in public. And the mom...telling her child to give the finger! I am floored! Sorry your experience wasn't so good.

that is absolutely despicable!! I would have been very loudly commenting to them that they were being rude and awful. We have a close friend of the family who lives in near WDW. She is in her late 60s/early 70s and has a really good friend who is a cast member that is Mickey Mouse. She told us that MANY of the characters are actually older people!!! It makes for a very good demeanor of a person she said. Can you imagine the horror these Cast Members must feel when they are out there with the public and someone does something so rude like that? OY vey! Makes me want to cry for them and hope that they get paid very well!!!

I cannot believe this experience you had - so disappointing I'm sure!! My husband is a youth pastor, and I can personally say that I know what road these kids are headed down by being allowed to act that way! I must say that I'm very impressed that you handled the situation so calmy - kudos!

We had a very similar experience at the Coral Reef. The 2 tables next to us were, at the adult table, several couples, and at the kids table, about 10 ids rqanging from about 8-15. They kept getting up an wandering around, then they started a food fight! All this while the parents were talking and laughing right next to them.

This is going to sound really mean, but I don't think some people should be allowed out in public.

My DH and I were at the movies one night and these kids come in with their mother and start telling these other kids about an incident that just happened in the supermarket parking lot. The kids talk about how they got into this argument with this older kid and then when they were leaving the parking lot with their mother in their pickup truck, she told the boy to moon this older kid. So he does and the whole while she was cheering him on. The mother is sitting there while her kids are re-telling the story VERY LOUDLY to a theatre full of people and she's just getting the biggest kick out of it.

I wish I could be more shocked at a story like this, but this really shows how one group can have such influence over other people. And with a comment from one of the moms to give Goofy the finger.....no wonder the kids were behaving like that!

I agree! I think it also shows how differently people act when in a group than when on their own. I hope that "shock value" comments like that might have been said without thinking but this one certainly had a devastating effect on many present. I saw that happen many times when I worked in a high school. It also shows that some adults never grow up (and I don't mean in a Peter Pan way).

OMG how terrible. I always tend to confront my troubles and emarass the heck out of my hubby. Those people would have gotton a word or two from me. I deal with the public alot and I guess it has made me kind of outspoken. LOL. Those people sound scary.

It's funny how people think they have spent so much money for this vacation they should be able to do what they want. As if everyone else doesn't want to enjoy themselves just as much.

I'm sorry to hear you ran into such an unruly family at Chef Mickey's! I would of been flabbergasted to see a mom coach her child to do that to Goofy for a picture?! Outrageous!
