Give a Day question

My family is volunteering in March. My question: I have a 4 yo. She is not eligible to volunteer. When we go to the parks (we'll be in FL anyway, so we'll just go for one day), do I need to pay for her ticket? Or is there some way she can earn a free ticket too?

I see that the tickets aren't transferrable, so the three members of my family that are not going to FL can't just give her one of their tickets - right?

Thanks!

You will have to buy her a ticket.

It can't be donated to a relative. The voucher says clearly, "Voucher is non-transferable, revocable, not for sale or resale, and is void if altered. The Guest whose name is preprinted on this voucher MUST BE PRESENT at time of redemption."

I have the voucher in front of me.

Our 5 year is turning 6 March 4th and I am hoping there will be something left for him to do after that date.

Bummer. So, kids from 3 - 5 are out of luck with this program?

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that Disney is offering this program as we'll get to go for a surprise day! But, I'm disappointed that they didn't think about the younger set!

Can anyone tell me how long this is good for - if I do the project now - can I use the ticket in 2011 or only this year?

No. The last day is in December 2010. I forget the exact date but it is close to the 15, before the holidays. There are also a few black out data, 7/4 being one of them.

The whole point is to get people to donate their time, kids age 3-5 will hardly be able to accomplish that..

Right. I would be a little bummed too, but it's not a freebie promo like last year with the birthday promo..this one is more about giving back. Little kids can try, but they really don't accomplish much. Heck, a lot of 6 year olds don't accomplish much, but it was nice that they put the bar low enough for the elementary schools to try. My youngest will be 6 next month, and I don't think she really understands the concept of helping others. She'll be cool with it for an hour, tops, but after that she start squirming and being wiggly and lose patience and focus so I am not sure if we will try with her. She definitely wouldn't be giving back much, not nearly as much as an adult.
