give a day..project linus question

Yikes! I guess they don't want knitted blankets, then. It takes about 60 hours to knit a baby blanket. :/

I think the 6 per person is for the no-sew blankets. We finished ours, 3 of us, and I dropped them off last week. Just waiting for the vouchers from Disney now. They sent a nice thank you and told me 2 local hospitals that are currently receiving the blankets. this was really meaningful to me, that they are to be distributed in my local community. One of the hospitals is where my daughter was admitted in critical condition in 2007 for a week before being moved to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.

We really liked making all those blankets, and my daughter will be making some soon too. And after that, I will still make some, because I liked doing this. My life is really chaotic and this was something I could find time for...

I contacted our local PL chapter in the Twin Cities, and they are not participating. So then I tried the national chapter using Walt Disney World as the location, and I received a great informational sheet from them about mailing them in - they want 1 blanket per person, with pictures, and encourage the kids helping by picking out the fabric, making "hugs" to wrap the blankets in, etc. I was ready to go that route, until I remembered DH travels extensively throughout WI and IA for work. I asked him where he is traveling in the next few weeks and searched those areas. I found the PL in Ames, IA is only requiring 1 blanket per family, and he can drop it off versus me mailing it and who knows when we get our credit for it.

We donated to our local chapter, one blanket per person, no sew double layer flleece. We were delighted since our youngest daughter has recieved quite a few during her stays in the PICU and we know the delight just a comfy blanket can bring:)
We did 1 with ladybugs and red fleece on the other side
1 with neon flowers and hot pink fleece
1 soccer balls with blue fleece
1 baseball amercana design with blue fleeece

We are all ready to do our Project Linus blankets and mail them in (2 per person single layer). :thumbsup2
Do I need to pre-wash the fleece?

yes, when you sign up just say that you want to mail them in......she helped my sisters that way...thanks so much
it is a place in peoria, il

I am hoping that the drop off will go smoothly tonight...my DH is bringing them down there. It was a pretty easy commitment.

Well we got the cookies dropped off last week, so that is good...last night I got an e-mail with our tickets, so that is very exciting. SO for the most part it was a painless project. Wish you could volunteer more than once.
