Beth, I feel so sad that you're not coming :( I think Jane & Steph said it best, sometimes it sucks to be an adult. Why do we always have to do the "right" thing?!? It's not fair, I wanna be a kid sometimes.

Public preschool? I have never heard of that. Do most of you have that where you live?

You would only hear about it if you had a child with special needs. It's not for everyone. Federal law requires special education to start at 3 for identified children. That's also where you find other therapies such as speech, physical, and occupational therapy.

I wish I didn't know about public preschool but, my Nathan is a wonderful person and I'm so grateful that it's there for us.

Stacie, I will go on Space Mountain with you over and over! Love it! I won't go on Screamin' though because I am afraid of heights and roller coasters usually scare me to death. I can do Space because it is dark and loud and I can't see that I am up high.

Beth, I am so sorry that you won't be able to make the trip. I really commend you for doing the responsible thing though. When it comes to vacations, I rarely do the responsible thing. I really shouldn't be spending the money for this trip either, but I'm going anyway. I am just being REALLY careful right now to not spend any money unless I need to. It is hard for me to make a budget because DH's income fluctuates so much we never know how much he is getting.

Alright! Another Space lover!! Screamin' isn't that bad, and the front car is the best, right Callie?? You should watch my video on YouTube from our first girls trip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2GeO4SKBhY.

Um, thanks, no! I was nervous just watching the video, and even screamed when it went upside down. Great video though!

LOVED Avatar. We saw the 3D version and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. LOVED all the colors and all the plants etc on the planet! I def recommend it to anyone on the fence! :)

Okay, maybe it was because it was the third movie I saw in the theater in a 10 day period, but I really thought Avatar was jus okay, kinda good, but not one I would tell people that they had to see it. Maybe I was just bitter. I have amblyopia...meaning that my eyes don't work together so I do not have binocular vison. All it really means is that I have zero depth perception, so the 3D effects in movies are totally lost on me. I have to wear the glasses, but the screen is totally flat to me, no 3D. Not a big deal...but I think I shouldn't have to pay the extra for 3D!!!!!

[ QUOTE=LittleBlackRaincloud;35075852]Yum! I've never heard of potato flour. I must live under a rock! :lmao:[/QUOTE]

Taken out of context, just a funny statement. My day at work was less than stellar, wish I could retreat under a rock.

Oh, and Beth, so sorry that you cannot come. I sometimes am forced to make adult decisons, they are never fun.

I know that I do the trip super cheap. I don't do the meals, I drive, etc, but I also know one person's cheap trip is a budget buster for someone else.

Bummer day today. I think tonight is a 2 beer night!!!! (and I am a light weight!!!!!).

Jane, I don't know if you are in Clark county, but here is their speech page. http://sssd.ccsd.net/speech.html

This is through the child find website. Look there for your specific county, and then look for related services under special education.

We are in Clark County, so this is perfect!

Thanks to you, Steph and Becci for the initial reassurances. I am going to call our ped tomorrow to make an appointment, but I'm not sure what to expect. I really like that she is laid back most of the time, but sometimes she doesn't take things as seriously as I do. Ty is currently 29 months and while he knows all his Disney characters  he calls all food cookies, apples or bananas and is struggling with shapes, colors and other basic info.

I'll let you know what I learn tomorrow and may be picking all of your brains again once I know more!

I say go with your instinct. If the ped won't do anything like mine did, just do it yourself. I'll see if I can find an early intervention service for you. The initial eval won't hurt, and it's nice to have a speech pathologist tell you what they think. They are the experts afterall!

OK-I went through the Easter Seals myself here in AZ. You have the same service available to you. They will evaluate Ty free of charge and tell you if they find him eligible. Here's their webpage. The phone number for the referral is about 2/3 down. http://sn.easterseals.com/site/PageServer?pagename=NVCL_early_intervention

It's snowing! :scared1: I can see it out the window at work.

Yes, it came down hard but didn't last or stick. The hills behind my house and by Sarah's work got a lot though.

Thanks everyone. :goodvibes I am going to miss seeing all of you!! Why do you all have to be so nice?? :confused3 If you all sucked and were mean, horrible people it would be a lot easier to stay home and not even think twice about it. lol Think you could work on that for me?? ;)

Jane ~ Adam was in speech therapy. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember much, but it helped him a lot. And I do remember being the one who had to sort of fight for it. Our ped was laid back sort of like you describe yours as being. Good luck! OH, and I really hope things work out for you to go. :wizard:

Trudi ~ That pic of the snow covered mountains is so pretty. Like they've been dusted with powdered sugar. :) Thanks for sharing.

AmySue ~ I'm sorry it's been a rough day at work for you. Did you get those two beers?? I hope so.

What else? I'm sure there was more I wanted to comment on. That'll teach me to multi quote next time. I was just being lazy. :rolleyes1

Well, guess it's time to hit the hay. Night ladies! Pleasant dreams. :cloud9:

I just got all excited about finding our return flight had come down to $37 then booked the wrong day:headache: Of course the office just closed 20 minutes ago, I'll try to figure it out in the morning.

Good morning and happy wednesday/hump day! Having Monday off has really thrown me for a loop LOL. It is hard to believe it is already wed but I am glad. I will admit I am ALREADY ready for this week to be over. Between the ugly weather and now I don't feel that hot! I did the wii yesterday and now my sicatica is killing me. I obviously did something funky and now it is "out". Didn't sleep hardly at all last night. BOO!!

We went to the basketball last night and it was interesting. They had another group practice like saturday with all 4 teams and didn't split them up till the very end and Shane has like 9 kids I think on his team. We got one of the girls that is really good and without even KNOWING anyone on the team she asked to be switched. Little brat! I didn't even know about it till Shane told me but I thought that was kind of lame but whatever. Anyway they also got their jerseys and everything and so Sat is the first game. The weird part is they haven't even really practiced positions or how to play a real game yet but at this level I think all the games are more like practices anyway. They play against eachother and this is more of a skill builder but it is good because if Shelby chooses to play in jr high or high school she will hopefully know better how to play.

I don't know how long they will continue with swim and soccer and I don't want them to do TOO many sports but I want them to experience all the different ones and pick which ones they like the best.

Anyway I had planned to cook dinner but I wasn't quite hungry and it was a little too early BEFORE practice but then it ran long so we had to just grab McD's cuz it was almost 7 by the time we got done and the girls go to bed at 8 so I didn't want to cook that late. We usually eat around 5 or 5:30.

Anyway then we just watched AI and hit the sack. I didn't sleep good at ALL though because of my sciatica and now today I HAVE to go in since I was off on Monday and plus my mom has a guy coming in to install some accounting software on my laptop and I guess to show me how to use it but I SO wish I didn't have to cuz sitting is painful plus the storm is supposed to be REALLY bad today! BLEH!

Anyway mom and I were supposed to go to the phone store and to Michaels this week but I don't know if we will do it today between the way I feel and the storm. Hopefully we will get to it on Friday for sure. According to the weather the storm is supposed to stick around till the weekend.

Glad we don't have Awana tonight. Wouldn't want to go out in this again tonight!!

Jane good luck with Ty! I know I worried about Katy's speech as well and had her evaluated around 3 but she was just slow to talk and now everything is just fine so I hope you get your answers!! And I hope you are able to come! Too many people are dropping out and that makes me sad! :(

Amy sorry you had a bad day at work. I know I don't like going to mine much either cuz for the last few years we have been SO broke and it is SO stressful being there and trying to pay bills with NO money. I know that it is my JOB and not my personal life but esp since my mom owns the comp I take it personal and also I know that it DOES affect me because obvisouly I get paid from the company and I feel guilty even taking my puny check when they are broke! I just wish this stupid economy would turn around! I hope you have a better day today!!

Well I am off here in a bit to take the girls to school and then I am going straight in to work so I will talk to you gals later this afternoon. Have a good day and be safe with these storms everyone!!

Good morning!

I agree it does suck being an adult. I'm not even a full adult yet (ie my own home, kids, etc), but being a 22 year old adult stinks sometimes.

Everyone else in So Cal, be safe today. Yesterday my Uncle's girlfriend was in Bakersfield for a business trip and she couldn't get back home because the grapevine was closed due to the weather, so she had to stay the night in a hotel. Alone.

Hugs to everyone who had a bad day yesterday, AmySue, Jane.

Carol, Stacie(lee), if you guys need hugs and a scary riding buddy, I'll be there to hold your hands. And I'll scream really loud if it makes you not as scared. ;)

Um, thanks, no! I was nervous just watching the video, and even screamed when it went upside down. Great video though!

:rotfl2:

Good morning ladies!

Here's a little sunshine for our CA ladies because it sounds like it will be the only sun they see for awhile.

Hopefully the weather isn't too bad.

I'm getting the twins ready for school. Just wanted to pop in and say hello, and wish everyone a Happy Hump Day.

Oooh, the teacups are my all time favorite ride. I used to like rollercoaster type rides, but now they are a bit much for me. I'll do them if I have to, but not my first choice. I guess basically I'm a kiddie ride kind of girl (except Dumbo - scared of heights :rolleyes1)

Rainy here too, so I'll take a bit of that sunshine (it's not hot, so it works for me :rotfl2:).

Happy Hump Day!
