As an AP I go all the time (was just there yesterday and will be there next week) and could meet you during one of your shifts. It would be nice to know at least one Diva in person

No, I do not work at DLR (I wish!), but I will be there from Sunday through Friday next week I can probably meet up for a bit during the week. It would be great to see some Diva's while I am in town.

It is at times like this that I wish I would have pushed him to learn ASL. He will be a candidate for a cochlear implant if he loses his hearing in total, but even then, you are still deaf without your implant on or in the event of failure. Having an alternative mode of communication would be awesome.

I am sorry to hear that...it is never too late to learn though! I know many adults that didn't start learning until they were 18 or older. Find some local Deaf events, or contact GLAD or OC Deaf - they can get you the resources to help

Ok, so I have bad news and good news...

The bad news is is that it doesn't look like I will be making the trip this next go round. The good news is because I am PREGNANT!!! I am actually due February 20th!

This is still VERY top secret and I am only mentioning it here because I have some pregnancy related questions up on the board regarding our trip next week and didn't want you guys seeing the spilled beans there first Please do not mention anything on facebook because I am planning a Disney-riffic special way of telling our parents.

I loved following your pictures Tina, we have our first trip to Hawaii booked in January.

I'm jealous of all of you that have nice weather. We've had rain almost non stop. So many ball games, sports days and get togethers have been cancelled lately

I'm so glad the weekend is finally over. DH and I had a huge, petty, stupid fight on Friday and it took the whole weekend to stop crying. We don't fight often but I think we both had a lot of stuff bottled up and it took something small to create a blowup. I was so mad and hurt that I really felt like I wanted it to be over even though I know I love Brad and need him in my life and that I could never do that to my kids. In our 18 years together it was the worst we've been through so I'm hoping we don't have a repeat for another 18. My family came over yesterday and my 7 yr old told my sister that "Mom and Dad are probably getting a divorce" we also found out that our 11yr old had snuck upstairs and recorded some of the things we argued about when we thought they were all asleep. We fought late friday night, worked all day saturday and sunday so it never got resolved. Then my whole family showed up for dinner unexpectedly on Monday night. I think the main thing that kept us civil was that we escaped the family in the living room to talk in our bedroom but my sisters baby was sleeping in our bed so we had to keep quiet, hard to fight while whispering.
Ugh, thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I'm hoping the rest of my week goes better.

First off congratulations Jen!!!!

Grey works for me, I don't need to buy a new shirt! And fifty shades of Divas cracks me up.

I think lime green for Wednesday might be a good idea, a lot of ladies will be there on that day. Then we can wear pink on Thursday so more ladies will need the pink shirt which will help out Mel with her inventory of them. Both colors also stand out so if any new ladies arrive on either day they will be able to spot us easily. Just my thoughts but I am fine with anything.

First of all, I completely understand all the reasoning here but do want to point out something. In the past, since we have reused the prior year's shirt, a lot of ladies would ask to order it. Knowing this, Mel ordered some extra pink ones so she would have them for the new ladies. Now we are switching gears (again, change is good!) but this leaves Mel with extra shirts that she paid for. So my suggestion would be to do the prior year's shirt on Sat in hopes that some of the new ladies would order it and help Mel out with the money she spent on shirts. And for trips going forward, do the prior year's shirt on the first day. That way, Mel knows not to order extras for this year.

Just my thoughts - don't want anyone out any money because we changed things up.

I agree. Mel's already spent the money. If we want to plan on not reusing this year's tee next year, she can order accordingly this time around.

The only issue I see with using the pink shirt on the 1st day is getting it to the new people who want it so they can wear it that day. I don't think Melody wants to ship them all over the place... but I could be wrong If we do lime green on Wednesday and pink on a different day, possibly Thursday, people will have a chance to pick them up on Wednesday, or they can be put at the check-in desk at Hojo's, like we've done before. Just my 2 cents, which probably isn't worth 2 cents anymore!!

Is it Friday yet? I go to Reno tomorrow after work.......I want it to be Friday. LOL

So big changes in the office, Bob is still talking about me working remotely but he's talking a lot about them looking at space in Hayward, which is 1.5 hours from here (without traffic) so I'm pretty sure that's happening. He acknowledged that I don't want to move right now, with 2 kids in school it's just not the right time. But he again said I can work remotely and maybe go to the office once a week, I would be ok with that, as long as I could pick the day I go in. lol But, if that doesn't work out then I'll deal with it when the time comes.
In the meantime, I'm going to Reno this weekend, Disneyland in 2 weeks and then I have friends getting married the week after that, busy busy busy, but fun fun fun!!!

Just popping in quickly to say hello. We just got back from our 5 day trip to DL on Monday and I am still recovering. I'll make a full trip report in a few days but there were some very memorable moments lol. Work is absolutle chaos right now as my Asst. front office manager prepares to leave on Tuesday and everything is about to hit the fan..I'm trying to abandon ship asap and have probably tossed out about 100 applications since Tuesday.

Anyway I hope all is well and I'll be back soon..and Congrats Jen that's so awesome. That makes a total of 19 people I "know" who are pregnant now..whatever is in the water keep it away from me for a little while longer lol

My "tie dye" will actually tone DOWN the lime green.

Crazy week here and it's only going to get worse from now till Convention. Which is in 27 days. EEK!

Coolio on the tie dye = I can't wait to see it!! I have my lime green shirt already and it's super cute! No, it's not tie dye (but I will have at least one tie dye shirt on the trip............). Part of the fun for me is getting my shirts all "done up" I like having something new and different each trip.

And if you don't already have one, get a FasTrak transponder from Costco for crossing the bridge. Just one time passing by the Friday afternoon cars lined up at the toll plaza makes it SO worth it.

DBF commuted to Berkeley for 9 years of our living here, now he commutes to Pleasanton, we have Fastrak. If I'm needed in the office I think I'll be able to set my own days so I won't go in at all on Fridays. I'd have to look at taking BART, since we don't have access to that here it's something I don't think of that much, I'd have to drive to a station before boarding so I'd need Fastrak either way.

We are going to stay in Waikiki and we're considering a splurge of one night at Aulani. Your trip looked really relaxing, our kids still need to be kept busy so we think it's a good place to say our first trip.

Good to hear that!

Waikiki is great for families, and there's lots of touristy stuff to do on Oahu. I would highly recommend the book Oahu Revealed. I've used those books for Maui and The Big Island, and they have tons of useful info in them.

And I think a night at Aulani would be amazing!
