How about the good bye breakfast being a character breakfast? Just need to make multipal ressies. I don't think we need a privare room for this.

A character breakfast would be so much fun!!

That could be fun. As long as it's not in one of the parks. I just think it should be at an outside restaurant just in case there is someone leaving that morning, who doesn't have a park pass.

But Storytellers is always nice. That could work.

Another place I thought of is Mimi's Cafe. It's not a horrible walk. The food is good, especially their muffins! And they do have a banquet room. Out of curiosity I called the manager and he said they have a private room that will hold around 46. That might work depending on the group size.
There's no deposit required. And he can provide us with a limited menu which would make ordering and getting in and out easier. Would be cheaper than a character meal also.

Anyway, just something to keep in mind as the months pass. :)

Mimi's Cafe is yummy! This would be fun too.

So it's safe to add a ticker with those dates then?? :cool1:

Well...... I dare say, go for it!! :cool1:

I was going to wait at least until tomorrow to make it official, just in case there were any last minute objections, but I'm sure if there was anything major it would have been mentioned already. :confused3 No objections have been said on Facebook either.

So far, from those who've posted an opinion, it seems to be that bumping it back a week is a good idea. Has to be better than this past week was. And those who haven't posted, I'm guessing are fine with any dates.

ETA: However, if I'm mistaken and there is a Diva out there who hasn't had time to post yet, but does have a serious issue or problem with these dates, please let us know asap.

I second Mimi's. It has good food at good prices, no park ticket needed (if I was leaving on Sunday, I most likely would not go in the park that day) and if they have the room size we need, that would be great :thumbsup2

I third Mimi's! I love their food and we could have a really nice time visiting.

Yeah for new dates!

I fourth Mimi's. And the dates are fine with me. Now I just have to wait till March 27 to make my DVC ressie . . . . .

EDITED TO ADD: just for kicks I checked out the points charts for DVC for a February date (until the 23rd) versus the late February/March dates. For a two bedroom, the point requirement for Wed-Sun until February 23 is 204 points. For the late February/March dates it is 316 points. That is a LOT of points. Assuming that those who rented were paying $10 per point, the February two-bedroom would be $2,040 divided by however many stayed. The March two-bedroom would be $3,160--almost a $1,000 more. Even a studio in March is a lot--until Feb.23 it is 78 points for the four nights; From Feb 28 is it 116 points ($380 diff. based on $10 per point).

I am still fine with Feb 27-March 2 date but I did want the ladies to know the financial impact. I had thought about getting a two-bedroom next year but if it's during the higher dates will probably stick with a studio--316 points for one weekend is too much for me.

Was any thought given to an even earlier weekend in February? Not trying to stir things up, but I know budget is a concern for many.

FURTHER EDIT: Just read back that some ladies indicated they could not make an earlier February date. So that's out. Can't make it later until the middle or so of April and we don't want to go then. So it looks like the higher points will have to be . . . . .

I seriously need a chocolate cupcake right now.

I'm right there with you, Cheryl! :thumbsup2

Thanks for checking out the point differences. I was too lazy to do it, even though I was on the phone with Member services booking a Beachclub villa this morning. That's a LOT of points. I think I might go back to HOJO's. I never minded staying there and it's fun with a big group. Hopefully we can get a good rate there for next spring. Although, I'm afraid our dates may still be considered in Spring Break time. Disney has a 6 week window for spring break and I have no idea if or how that will infulence the hotel prices. Regardless, we'll make it work. We always do and it's a blast. But this year I'm open to staying at a good neighbor hotel if we can get a good rate. Looks like we (almost positively) have dates. Let the planning begin!

I think we do!! :cool1:  In fact, I'm going to live dangerously and go as far as to post them on the front page. ;)

Bridget had mentioned the higher points/cost of staying at the Grand during that time. But, and this is just my two cents on the hotel thing, I liked it when we used to stay at Hojo.
Now, don't get me wrong, the villas, grounds and atmosphere at the Grand are untouchable. There's nothing nearby that even compares. And with the high crowds in the parks this time, I spent more time at the hotel than I had planned.

What I'm hoping is that with lower crowds, we will all be too busy having fun in the parks to spend a lot of time in our rooms so it won't matter as much where we are staying. And most of us, by now, have seen the WoC, so we don't need a viewing party per se.

Like Chris said, I always had fun staying at Hojo, especially when we'd take over almost a whole floor! And if not Hojo, then maybe Carousel will give us a good rate. We should have at least 6 rooms booked there anyway for the party room, so this might be for the best. Plus there are other hotels, like Cheryl mentioned the Fairfield, that we never really looked into.

Anyway, that's just my thought. As long as I am there, having fun, hanging with friends, I don't care where I sleep! :cool1:

Let me know if anyone will be around the parks next weekend. Vicki, Heather, DD Christine and I will be there for MouseAdventure; we're having breakfast at Surf's Up, 7:30am on Sunday, if anyone wants to join us (Cheryl, I already added you). Other than that, we'll be in the parks Friday & Saturday, planning on eating dinner at Fire & Ice Thursday night and heading over to Tangaroa Terrace Friday night. Then early to bed Saturday night, especially since the clocks move ahead that night!!

Good luck during MA!!! :cool1: :yay: Are any other Divas doing it?

I had to Google Fire and Ice. Looks like a cool place.
That's one thing I wouldn't mind doing during the next trip. Going to Anaheim Gardenwalk and checking it out, and have lunch or dinner there. Just something I'd personally enjoy. :)

I just wanted to let everyone know that after the addition of a few needed volunteers, we now have your 2013 M&G Committee:

Beth
Capri
Jen
Jessica
Laurie
Lisa
Tammy
Wendy

We'll announce a new theme within the coming weeks, but until then.......popcorn:: :rolleyes1

:woohoo: I'm super-excited to be on board and glad that I'll be able to provide "local" help.

Just got home from work and I have a small update on the transfer front: it may be possible for me to transfer to the store in Anaheim. Their HR wasn't in this morning so I've got to give him a call tomorrow about the position they had posted on our HR portal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Buena Park didn't work out so that this would.

Oooooo... hopefully this means there would be a BUNCH of us back at the Carousel again? It's got its quirks, but I do like it there. It's closer than HoJo, especially after a long day on my feet! LOL

My mom and don't want to stay at Carousel again next year. Two years ago it was nice but this year it was kind of icky. The towels were not even white, more of a grey color. :scared1:

What a dilemma on where to stay, lol. Andrea and I would prefer to stay on-site somewhere and I really, really did love the Villas. If I planned $$ out right I wouldn't mind doing it again even with a higher cost - if there's anyone out there thinking the same way, consider us for roomies! I really was not a fan of the Carousel and would prefer not staying there again and I don't really want to deal with the walk from the HOJO as much as I love the place.

That would be great. I hope it all works out the way you want it to! :wizard:

I did mine too..... LOL!
363 days? Ouch! :lmao:

I've never stayed at Carousel but Theresa did and said it was fine. The reviews aren't bad. Trudi said the towels were dingy, so I might bring one from home, just in case. But yes, it's much closer than the Hojo.
Their website says they offer a small breakfast of:
Freshly baked pastries
Cereal assortment
Fresh fruit
Juice, coffee, tea, milk
Bagels w/ Cream Cheese
Croissants
Hard Boiled Eggs
Donuts
Oatmeal

That's nice, I guess. I can grab a bagel and some fresh fruit and that would save me some money on breakfast.
