I HATE it when I lose what I already typed!!!

Anyways, I don't know if I'll make it for the October meet, but I almost positively will be there near the end of August. My DD can move into her dorm Friday, Aug. 22, so when does she want to be there??? As early as possible on Aug. 22!! She and her roommate are going to get the 3-day $99 PH for So. Cal. then upgrade by Oct. 14 to a So. Cal. AP. The question I have is are the $99 tickets still going to be available when we get there or will the stores have run out by then?

I'm thinking of staying through Monday or Tuesday the following week, is anyone going to be around then???

Stacie: just saw these when I went grocery shopping last week. If you want me to get them before they sell out I would be happy to do so. They have to have "first use" by Aug. 30 and all three days have to be used within 45 days from first use.

I'm sure I can be around sometime that weekend (shoot, maybe by then I will even have to take a Monday off . . . . . . )

Was it very violent? Adam wants to see it, and he's only 13 soooo..... I'm not sure if it's appropriate for him or not.

Noelle and I want to see Mamma Mia. I was never a fan of ABBA music but ever since Ruben and I saw the stage show, I love it! And now the girls have all started to like it as well, so they all want to see the movie.
Needless to say, Adam does not. :rotfl2:

Beth, here's a review of the Dark Knight and the question of if you should bring a "kid" to see it.

My dad went for radiation this afternoon, which turned out to be an out-patient procedure because both hospitals were full! He's back now but downstairs, we are not allowed to be within 6 feet of him. I so lovingly dubbed him "2319!" :lmao:He will be 2319 for the next two weeks. He has to wear gloves and sit on a towel downstairs because any body oils/perspiration can have radiation on it. He can't even be around my dog, so she's upstairs in the kitchen in her crate.

Hopefully we make it through these 2 weeks smoothly because there are so many steps and precautions we have to take.

Thank you!

Thanks, I am so going to have to try that :thumbsup2

Goodness, its been a busy week. Riley party was a blast. We did BAB and had pizza at CEC type place, went swimming. This momma is tried. She is all registered for her new school. I cant believe the summer is almost over.

I have 2 interviews this week, keep your fingers crossed. I like the job I have but I am trying to find something with better set hours.

When is everyone meeting up at DL in October? I am trying to plan my dates but I want to meet everyone. (cue crazy internet stalker music)
Hey there, I'm glad to hear Riley's party went well. Sounds like it was fun!! When does school start?

Good luck on the interviews! I hope it works out for you. :wizard:

For October this is the list I have:
MommaU4/Beth
Stacerita/Stacie
Zoemakes5/Michelle
bsbllmom/Cheryl
toocherie/Cheryl
lulubelle/Linda
21yankees/Steph
grumpyvet/Amy
stacielee/Stacie
MamaKate/Katie
Tinkermell/Melody
lisadoll93/Lisa

Hopefully everyone that's on here will be able to make it still. So far we just talked about doing dinner at Cafe Orleans on the 17th. We didn't decide on a time yet. I'm guessing typical dinner time somewhere between 5-6:30. :thumbsup2

I hate that too!!! :headache:
I hope you can still make it in October! But I'll put a ? mark by your name.
Have fun in August. I'd love to go back before the kids start school, but with all the back to school expenses and the cost of gas, it's not going to happen.

Thanks, I'll check that out.
We were supposed to go to the movies today but Ruben got called in to work so that's been postponed.

ETA: I think I'm going to let him see it. He's 13 and a half so I think he'll be ok. Thanks!

The best to you and your family during this difficult time.:grouphug:

Cristabel,
Much pixie dust coming your way. Humour goes a long way in helping everyone cope with the challenges of a serious medical condition. Hang in there, and try not to go all glowy on us. (hey, maybe that would be a good accentuation to your look on your next disney trip??) Tracey

Hi ladies! I hope you're all having a good day so far.

I'm just trying to stay well right now. Ruben is getting sick, or thinks he might be, and I'm trying not to get it. He was supposed to be off yesterday but someone else called in at the last minute so he went in to cover for them. (that's why our movie plans were postponed) But I think he's getting run down because his throat was hurting. :confused3
Too much work. LOL And he picked up an extra day for next week and the week after. :sad2: So I've got lots of vitamins and Airborne and other goodies to keep us all well.

Other then that not much going on here. Trying to keep cool. It's not too bad right now. Only 94, but we are supposed to have a high of 104. I cannot wait for Fall and some cooler temps!! :)

Later!

A friend of mine just had this procedure in the Spring, and she is doing fine now. She and her husband have a 6 year old, so keeping her away from mom was the hardest part for them.
She scheduled it so that she got the "ok" to be back in contact with people about a week before they left on a big family trip on the Disney Cruise out of CA, and then about 2 weeks after they got home, they got a call to drive down to Riverside the next morning to adopt a baby!
So while the whole situation is scary and inconvenient, it turned out fine for my friend, and I'm sure it will be the same for your family. But here's some pixie dust and good thoughts to help you get through this time pixiedust:

Thanks for the reassurance! The surgeon said he was pretty sure they got all of it out during the surgery but wanted to do radiation to be safe. I think it is lame how the hospital did this as an outpatient procedure. Because they don't have the room they are sent my dad home where he is a danger to his whole family (ALL girls).

Is it that he is IN danger from the whole family? Because his immune system is suppressed? I agree with you in any event it is a lame excuse--but that is our medical system today.

I hope he's doing ok today and that everything continues to go well.

Cheryl

(p.s.--thought of you the other day when they were talking about a new tropical storm--Cristobal--almost you name!)

No, he is a danger to us. He's perfectly fine, we're the ones who could be damaged by the radiation.
Something else that's also my name, Christopher Columbus! In Spanish (cause he's from Spain), his name is Cristobal.:lmao:

When is it too early to start a pre-TR? I don't want to start one and run out of things to say.:surfweb:

:offtopic: COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC!

Is anyone here a ChaCha guide?

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming. :happytv:

I just started one for my October DL trip and I was hesitant to do that because I figured it might be too soon for me! :rotfl:

I don't know. :confused3 For which trip?

Ummm, what's a ChaCha guide? Clearly I am not one since I don't even know what it is. :rotfl:

Okay, I apologize in advance to all the dieters out there......:rolleyes1

But I had to pass this along. A friend of mine told me about it tonight. I love the Cheesecake Factory!! And this is such a good price considering those slices are normally around $6-$8 each.

Celebrating “30 Delicious Years,” The Cheesecake Factory is serving up several sweet initiatives throughout 2008.

To kick-off the anniversary celebration and in commemoration of National Cheesecake Day on July 30th, 2008, The Cheesecake Factory restaurants will offer every delicious slice of its more than 30 varieties of cheesecake with a dollop of nostalgia by featuring all cheesecakes at $1.50 per slice, limit one per guest, dine in only, on that day—as they were when the restaurant first opened in 1978.

In addition, a special, limited edition cheesecake, the 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, will be introduced on July 30th with $0.25 from the sale of each slice sold this year benefiting the national hunger-relief organization, America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network. Additional activities will be announced throughout the year.

I doubt we'll go because it's dine in. But maybe someone else can use it. Split a salad and then go for the dessert! ;)

You kind of already answered my question. It's for the 2010 WDW trip btw:lmao:

It's okay, Beth, just don't eat the cheesecake! Stay strong, you shall over come!:rotfl:
