I agree with this statement! A lanyard is just what we need to decorate all of our chests. If we make it big enough and flashy enough, no one will even notice that we don't have shirts on!

Hi Jane. I think for the sake of everyone's budget and sanity, we have decided to go with one tee. The Tink one from the front page. And then we are going to have pretty new lanyards to wear.

I'm working on it. With DD's birthday this week and my department's holiday cocktail party, I am lagging I know. I have some food porn on the camera ready to load, just haven't gotten around to it.

Just so y'all know that I'm not avoiding the subject altogether (well, actually I am) -- I HATE Tie-Dye. No really, I HATE it. But I'll be a good sport and wear whatever y'all pick and won't pipe in with a preference cuz I think they're all butt-ugly.

I think at one time, I offered to make up a t-shirt with a castle on it. My son has offered to do the design. He does ads for part of his job. He can draw very good. Once that is done, I would post it for you guys to see. Then somehow, it would be nice for you guys to order it, and then I could send it to you, if you would like to embellish it if you like. That is what I want to do to it. Lots of glitter and rhinestones. If you don't like that idea, then leave it plain.

So, DS got evaluated by the developmental specialist. She thinks he will need speech therapy and occupational therapy to straighthen his mouth muscles. We are now waiting to get the speech therapist here to evaluate. It's just jumping through hoops now. We were told he will probably get speech once a week and OT once a month. I really hope this helps him.

We got our Christmas pics done. I don't look deranged in them so I'll call them good! The kids even smiled and laughed some. Overall, I had a really nice day with DH and the kids. (I only get one day a week with DH due to our work schedules.)

For my birthday, my DD emailed me an e-card that had an old lady throwing her mammories around that said the following (to the tune of "Do Your Ears Hang Low"):

I've been meaning to write to you. My son (now 3) has been through a lot of what you're just going through. From 2-3 he received one on one therapy in our home, once a week to get him talking. Now he goes to a speech therapist in our school district twice a week. We're getting ready to move him to a preschool class environment.

We're also going to see a pediatric developmentalist in the next month. His pediatritian and the school's psychologist want him evaluated for autism. Dh and I pretty certain that he is autistic (high functioning) but still has some issues.

Sorry for writing a novel about that. If you ever want to talk about what your son is going through or have any questions, feel free to PM me.




Okay as far as the shirt, Beth I think you've gone way above and beyond. I'm fine with 1 shirt and a new lanyard. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to this stuff. I too have have enough Disney shirts to where for about 2 weeks. Even if we don't do the Mickey T-Shirt day we could do a wear your favorite character shirt day. Very weird as I type this I don't believe I have a single Mickey shirt but I do have at least 10 Grumpy shirts....if that says anything for my personality

That doesn't sound too bad. My twins received speech and OT for awhile. So did my son. It helped them all a lot. They won't shut up now. Are you sure you want to do this??

My son went to pre-school for his speech issues. I cried when they told me I should send him to pre-school. Ruben was working two jobs so I could stay home with my son and NOT have to send him off with strangers, and now they were telling me that was the best thing for him??? I resisted, but finally gave in.

It was the best thing I ever did. He went 2.5 hours a day, four days a week, and he loved it. By the time he entered Kindergarten he was already reading. So I now think pre-school can be a good thing, especially if it's one that is set up to address certain issues like speech and/or OT.

Oh, and you are the farthest from Grumpy of anyone I've met!
