Nope, not a mansion. I just use the space I have really really well. Not all of them are 6 foot. It started out small. I saw a friend of the family and his "friend" and they had a few trees up in their place. And he had one on view at the Met. And I feel in love with that idea. So one year I got new ornaments one year and a fake tree and since I didn't want the other ornaments to clash with it. Then after the holidays, I hit the sales and got another cheap tree and new ornaments. Then it just grew. New themes and trees. I have skipped some years in getting new stuff though.

Neve been to Stat's. Now I need to google and check it out.

If I put them all up I will take pics.

Good morning ladies! Well, I'm officially in "Crazy Travel Nerves" mode. I'm leaving for DLR tomorrow morning. Been there a million times. Can't sleep. I got about 5 hours Sunday night and four hours last night. It's ridiculous! I keep waking up with a racing heart, thinking of everything I have to do before I get on the plane. I did get two new clients this week, and met with a 3rd, so I am busy. But sheesh, I wish I could just relax and get some sleep!!!!!

*the cost for our flights went down by $5. I called to get that as a credit. Their new policy is to round up, so we each have $25 credits (I called, it's not a fluke, it's new policy).

So, what do you all do on the VIP tour? I had my name on the waitlist, then took it off, and am now wondering if I really want to do it again. I've never been to DLR so I worry that it might be too much for me to take in. I was thinking that I'd do better just having large chunks of time to explore with. I don't want to miss out though. Do you get anything special on the tour? Where all do you go? Should I do it if a spot opens up?

Oh, I need to add that I'm a BIG chicken, and don't ride the 'scary' rides. Pirates is about as thrilling as I can go.

Good Morning Heather! I'm at jury duty today so you'll be seeing all sorts of posts for me as I surf the day away here in the jury waiting room.

Personally, I wouldn't waste a whole day on the VIP tour since you've never been to DLR. I think you'll have more fun exploring yourself instead of being on a set schedule with a group. The only real perks is VIP seating for some of the shows (Aladdin, parade, fireworks). And you never know who your guide will be. You can end up with a gem (J.D.) or a dud (Ryan). JMO.

Been crazy, as usual, here! It's tough getting back into the swing of things working after being home for so long. Plus, it's been an unusually busy couple of weeks, with me being sick, then Ethan getting pneumonia, then girl scouts got really busy and now it's school conferences this week and Riley's band concert. YIKES!
We're sneaking off to DL this Sunday. I'm dragging the family so we can see the Christmas decorations. I got to looking at our holiday schedule, and it's already booked solid! Dec. 5 weekend we have Sea World holiday night for passholders, my SIL's shower, Zoe and I are in the holiday parade in our town. Dec. 12 weekend we have my company party and a Sunday brunch. Dec. 19 weekend we are going to Tucson for x-mas with MIL. Not much time in there for going to DL, so I'm going this weekend.
And, we are tentatively planning a WDW during the buy 4 days get three free event. With 5 in my family, that's a big savings.
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone here!

Billy Fan I know how you feel. We leave in 2 days and I am in a whilrwind! SO much to do and think about so little time. DH is on a year long project on his job and he works construction so things have been iffy at best with his company. They have had 3 years with NO raises and then the last 2 years they made them take a pay CUT because things have been so bad with the economy and over HALF of his shop has been laid off but we are one of the few lucky ones that haven't been laid off. He usually gets a few days here and there and at most a week during the winter months (he is a tile setter) but a lot of the guys in his shop get laid off for months at a time. But it still sucks that we have not seen a raise since 03 and then pay CUTS the last two years. Well then we were so excited that he got this job that was going to be guaranteed work for a year which meant hopefully NO layoffs in the winter months and then BAM last night they dropped the bomb on him. He calls me and says the boss wants the whole crew to go back to the shop after work. NOT a good sign.

So we are thinking because the estimator overbid the job they are going to ask them to take yet ANOTHER pay cut. YEP. They want them to take one. So we are stressing and JUST what I wanted to hear 2 days before our huge trip when he is not going to get paid for 2 weeks as it is. They don't get paid when they don't work and so we usually have to try and save up for it as it is but we had a lot of unforseen stuff come up (like our girls getting pink eye and having crazy doctor bills and then my cable bill doubling for some crazy reason, our car insurance AND both of our car registrations are due in Nov/Dec and all of them went UP for some crazy reason). We have not had any accidents but the insurance went up because they said we lost our "new car" discount which is ridiculous and the regs went up because our lovely gov decided to try to recoup the budget deficit. And on and on.

So it has just been one heck of a week let me tell you. I just hate when crap like this happens RIGHT before a trip. Makes me not want to spend ANY money. And then I get to come back and it is Christmas and my daughter's birthday is New Year's eve. FUN!

Anyway sorry for the gripe fest but it has just been one of those weeks. As if I didn't have enough to stress over.

Plus I had PROMISED my youngest that we would take her to DL for her birthday and so we booked this trip in April and the room is paid for and I just bought the airline tickets when they came available eventhough we probably shouldn't do it but I was planning on just using our tax refund next year so no big deal. Well now dh says he doesn't know if he should take the time off cuz of this job. He says he is in charge of it and since he is taking this time off now for DW they might get mad if he takes another week in April. UGH! The hotel was bought and paid for months ago and now I just bought NON-refundable airfare a few weeks ago. I have been promising my youngest we would take her for years because we took my middle one twice for her birthday, not on purpose it just worked out that way because her birthday is New Year's and we were there anyway and just last February we took my oldest so we promised her we would take her for her's and this was the year. So now I am stumped. I surely don't want to cancel but I don't want to go without dh. UGH!

At least it is a ways away so hopefully things will get better by then. And dh is thinking he may look for another job because he is getting tired of the bs. So who knows. All I know is I just wish I could go on vacation and not have to think about any more bs! Is it Thursday yet!
