Jen - Sounds like you guys had a fun Halloween, even without the trick-or-treating! Your dinner sounds totally Halloweenish - LOL! And the school party sounds like a winner!

How exciting.....going to DL (Paris, I assume) for your birthday!!! I want to come......I can't......but I want to! That should be one fun birthday for you! :woohoo:

Beth - Ooooooh, a whip?!! You promise? ;)

Happy Halloween Everyone!party:

We're all stocked up with candy, ready to "ohhh and awww" over all the cute little ones that come by. We get over 100 kids, so it's fun.

And I agree, Capri, you are going. The AP and airfare are the most expensive things - and you already have those. I'm buying you a lunch so we can catch up and chit chat. That's final!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN DIVAS!!!

Now ladies, you are all just the most thoughtful, loving and giving women I know, and you have me in tears (literally), and I hardly ever cry. But I just couldn't accept. I would feel terrible not paying my portion for everything. It would make me feel really bad.....and I just couldn't do that. I'm sure you know what I mean, right? Your kindness makes me feel loved though, and that's one of the most important things there is. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, am very grateful to have such wonderful friends! :grouphug:

But hey, you never know. Don't count me out for good just yet. It's almost four months away still, and something great could happen.....maybe.....and I could be on a plane in February. Trying to remain optimistic.....it's more fun. :goodvibes
It would truly be such a shame for you to miss out on the trip, being how you would not have to pay for airfare and have the AP! One thing I have learned is not to take away other people's joy at being able to do something nice for you! I am sure there are many of us who would be more than happy to have you share our room - really it would not cost us a single penny more to have you there with us and many of us have the room. Now, those that are having 5 girls in one room sharing a bathroom, that is another story! But I only have 2 in my room as do many others so you definitely have a place to stay! So don't take away our pleasure of your company just so you won't feel terrible about letting us help you! :goodvibes

Hi!

Sarah-That's great news. I hope this means you won't be working as many doubles.

Jen - Sounds like everyone had a nice time at school. Your dinner sounds like it was a success. You are very creative with the names of your food items.

Capri - You're going, think positively. I'm local and am more than happy to bring a case of Diet Pepsi for you ;) and to eat a dinner with you (my treat).

Dawn - Those cupcakes are adorable. I bet they taste delicious.

Beth - I hope you have a wonderful Halloween.

Kelly - Hope the girls' soccer games went well and you have a nice weekend.'

Kate - Have fun with the trick or treating. I'm sure we all agree that we'll need to see a picture of her as Piglet.

As for us, Josh is going to take the kids trick or treating (they requested him this year). I'll stay home to pass out candy until they get back and then the kids help for the rest of the evening.

I leave again tomorrow morning at what is referred to as o'dark thiry (translation 330 am) to fly to Virginia. I'll be there for about week and then I come home. :cool1:

Hope you all have a nice stress free weekend.

steph

Not DL Paris. DL California! We'll be coming home to CA for about ten days around new year's and two of those will be spent in DL! We have APs and DVC points, so we're going to use them. Yeah!

As for DL Paris, still on the wish list. DH not yet onboard. So many places to go in Europe, DL isn't making the priority list yet. Maybe next year?

Thanks all for the Halloween wishes!

The girls tied their soccer game 2 to 2 and Shelby scored her first goal of the season and our first goal of the game today!! :) It was great cuz this was a REALLY hard team! It was really exciting! The coaches dressed up, Shane in his army uniform and our other coach as a rocker dude. I took some pics and will download them later when I have pics from tonight. Probably on FB as it is so much easier. :)

Jen that sounds SO fun (your party and dinner) and that is great you guys are getting to come back "home" in Jan and to DL on top of it! YAY!!! I won't be able to go because of going in Feb but I am sure some of the divas that live close by might be able to meet up with you! That will be awesome!

Mom and dad actually came to the game and then we all went out for brunch and mom has to do some real estate work now but there is a little harvest festival up in Folsom and so the girls and I are going to go check it out before we go to their house. Sounds like fun! :)

Everyone have a BLAST tonight! TTYL!

I should have multi quoted.

Capri, I will be truly sad if you don't show your pretty face in Feb. I hope and pray that Justin will get something between now and then. In the meantime, like Carol said, there are many of us who would like to make a difference for you. :grouphug:

Sarah, Woo hooo to you and your DH!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Tonight we are doing "Trunk or Treat" at our church. We are decorating my friends car in Disney themed. Kaitlyn and I will wear our costumes, and my friends are going to get Mouse ears too. It's alot of fun!!! We will also have a bean bag throw at our booth/trunk.

Beth and Callie, you are funny about Twilight. I guess you can call me "Team Edward." He is more mature, like me. Yuk yuk!! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Now to the Grand Califonian. I have always had good housekeeping service there. Even on this last trip. For some reason, which does not make sense, our room was done early in the day, and our turn down service was done timely too. Go figure that.....standard compared to concierge. They should have the BEST sevice of anyone.

Dawn, the pumpkins and cupcakes look wonderful. What a fun time. :cloud9:

Cheryl, if you read this..................HAVE FUN!!!!!

Jen, Yay for good ole American Halloween fun!

The one time we had bad housekeeping at the Grand Californian was when we were placed on the concierge level. Mind you, we were not concierge, but we seemed to be on that same floor with concierge guests. We did not get our room cleaned for two days. I called to housekeeping to at least get coffee replaced. I thought we were being overlooked since we were just normal folk and all housekeeping's focus was on the concierge guests.

Very well said, Carol. You're right, it makes me feel good to do something nice for a friend. So, Capri, you owe it to all of us to come and make us feel good about ourselves.

I wanted to mention about Dawn and The Grand. I witnesses what she said both times and it just seems like they were jinkxed (spelling?) or something. We had fabulous service (concierge lounge and room maid) at Paradise Pier and Grand Ca. We did get a plate of Mickey Rice Krispy treats and extra chocolates at turn down time. And our room was cleaned spit-spot early in the day. And the maid knocked on the door to make sure we didn't need anything. But I agree, if we had the service they did I'd be taking my several hundreds of dollars elsewhere, too! Let's hope the Feb stay is magical for our Miss Dawnikins & Sally.:grouphug:

I also wanted to mention that housekeeping for us at the Grand was good and on time as well - turn down service and all. However, they did not take the plate from the chocolate covered strawberries that we had...... but when I ordered room service soup when I wasn't feeling well, it came and there was a card on the tray that asked to put the tray outside and call down to I think it was catering services or something like that and they came up PDQ to collect it (I put the strawberry plate on the tray). So maybe that's why?? I think though that if they expect concierge guests to call for dish removal, that should be clearly posted, or whatever their policy may be. Hopefully their stay in Feb is better :thumbsup2

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, DIVAS!!!

And speaking of Dawn....I think her idea about a picnic is FABULOUS!
DL has a picnic area for food from outside the park, right? I have never seen it, has anybody here experienced it? Is it shaded? Is it nice? Some of us locals (I volunteer myself and Bree) could bring sandwich makings with chips, fresh fruit, dessert and we could have a meal for everyone! I have a rolling cooler I could use. Each diva that wanted to participate could pitch in $5 or whatever and we could all have a nice picnic meal on a budget! I really think if four or five of us bring the food it would work. We could even have everyone bring their own drink, too so we don't have to lug sodas. What do you guys think? What day might this work? I'm thinking Sunday.:wizard:

Oh my gosh, you ladies are not only very loving and giving.....but you're a persistent group aren't you?!!! LOL.

I don't know how to thank all of you for your kind words and generosity.....I mean geesh.....a room, meals/food, and even a case of Diet Pepsi (which is essential of course - LOL)! Thank you just doesn't cover it. :grouphug:

I promise, I will do my very best to make it down. I'm going to have to crunch some numbers to see exactly how much I will need to scrimp and save between now and Feb. It's kind of complicated because, well, if we can save any money at all, it would be more responsible to put it in our account to pay an upcoming bill or an unexpected expense.....so that's a little bit of a guilt issue for me. But on the other hand, as some people say, a couple hundred dollars isn't going to make or break you in your life....so that's another way to look at it. It's a bit of an internal ying and yang thing. :goodvibes

I'm feeling eager though, because as we speak, Justin is talking to a good friend about hiring him for a job. It's a BIG step down for him, and the pay might be crummy, but who cares?!!! It's a job and a steady flow of income to supplement his extremely sporadic income from appraising. I so hope this works out......I'm scared to even mention it or feel at all hopeful for fear I'll jinx it. I even vacuumed just a bit ago to keep my mind off of it....and I hate vacuuming.

That sounds like a great idea!

Hi girls.
I hope everyone is having a day.

I have been doing homework most of the day.
My throat is still sore and my cough is well still here.
I am suppose to be going to Halloween party tonight but I am not sure I am going to make it.

Beth~ I hope you are feeling better.

We are off to the store to buy some candy & a staff (sp) for Kaelebs reaper costume.

Sounds like fun! Another option for a time might be Thursday lunch if most of us will be there by then. Here are a couple of links with the location and a picture of the area.

Linda, I see you are now going to DL the weekend I will be there! :yay: I know there are a few of us doing MouseAdventure and maybe some others around at that time? We should start planning a meet, maybe sometime on Sunday Dec. 13?

I am not doing MA, but I think most of the others going are. So of course Sunday will be perfect for a mini-meet!;) I think lunch somewhere and a few rides (I love Thunder Mtn & Small World with a group) would be in order. Maybe all meeting for the parade, too? But yes, I for sure want to see everyone and meet you.:)

I wish I could see Jen for her big b-day, but I won't be able to make it.:guilty:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Crazy day - just now finishing the pumpkin carving. Now it's time to hang out outside and hand out candy in flip flops and shorts and t-shirts! Not the Halloween weather I'm used to and I love it!
